If the driver side air bag deploys and the seat belts lock out, do you have to replace the whole assembly or is there a reset for them?

The best and safest answer is, you should replace the belt/mechanism.

    I don’t really trust the rebuild/repair services.

I guess what I'm really asking is if it is just the airbag sensors that lock out the seatbelts. And if you replace the sensors will the seatbelts work again?

Once the pretensioners have blown in the seat belts the belt and retractor assembly must be replaced there is no resetting them, there are some companies out there that rebuild them but I'm with @TnShooter on a critical safety component I'd go new if possible.

If the driver airbag deployed the airbag, likely the spiral cable, the airbag module, and any affected crash sensors would have to be replaced for the system to work properly again. Depending on the severity of the impact other structural components such as the steering column and anything else in the impact area should be closely inspected and repaired if needed.

I appreciate all your info. I just wanted confirmation. We're still waiting on 2 of the sensors and now the seat belts. Everything else has been done after my unicorn Tacoma ate a deer. I have a 2008 6 speed manual, 4.0 with a 5' bed dbl cab. Well worth saving! Thank you guys.
