Gemini Bridges then down Long Canyon or the reverse is a good one.

Get yourself the infamous rock shot.

That a good tour of some pretty desert. Spring Canyon is a sweet little drive too.

If you hit Gemini Bridges, it's worth the short drive up to Dead Horse Point when you exit the trail. It's not offroad, but it's an awesome view, and you can see the end of the Chicken Corners trail from there which is neat if you run that one too. Lots of good camping (campgrounds and dispersed) up there too.

Well, hey. Maybe I should stop by this thread and say hi. I've been lurking in the 1st gen area for years, and just found this part of the forum. Hopefully I'll have something useful to contribute to the conversation.

I get down to Moab quite often. Long Canyon is amazing, both up and down. Gemini Bridges is also pretty beautiful. There's a campground really close to the top of Gemini Bridges and near Mineral Canyon Road that I love to stay at, but it's usually full on the weekends. You can easily do White Rim Trail in a single day. I'd recommend that if you get a chance. Or, head out west past Tusher Tunnel towards White Wash Sand Dunes and there are never ending wide open spaces with more little side roads than you could ever explore. You can find many places that overlook the Green River around Labyrinth Canyon that are far enough out of town that tourists never really go there.

Great, now I've given up all my favorite places.

They are trying to hack into your email… how do you reset all of your passwords if you get locked out of your bank account? Yep, email.

Or...you setup a strong password, use a password manager, and setup multi factor auth on your email. It would literally take someone centuries to crack my password if they got a hold of the hash....and then they would need my phone to get the second multi auth code.

Also. Don't reuse passwords. This is a big one.

Yeah... or just don't become part of the system and you don't even need a password, password manager, multifactor-bulls**t, or even a phone.

    I like my system better.

Yeah, I work at a bank. So many people get duped online, it really sucks.

I used to work in financial services as well, and frankly, a lot of those that get duped deserved it.

There's some really elaborate scams out there I can see how folks fall into, but the infamous "Nigerian Prince" scheme still proliferates because it works.

We also had a dude in the section next to mine get his security clearance revoked after getting catfished and scammed by the Russians...multiple times :frusty:

Yeah, homie wired some chick the travel money to come visit ($3-5k), "missed her flight", wired her more for a new ticket, "mom got sick", wired her even more money, then I forget what happened. Decided it might be a better safe than sorry to tell the security people about his situation at that point, and they didn't quite see it from his point of view.

Also previously worked in credit unions/a major bank:

The romance scams that used to drain old lady’s bank accounts used to kill me. Literally explained it at least a thousand times what was happening and she still insisted on sending the money to Mexico. I think the “guy” scammed her for 110k before we shut down her CU accounts.

Most recent job, people would get scammed and expect the bank to give all of the money back. Parents of grown ass children used to scream at me because we didn’t protect their adult children enough.

Glad I’m out of banking. Some of my Repo stories were pretty great.

My wife retired from a life in banking. I remember one time she saved a woman from foreclosure because the poor lady had no idea how to pay her bill after her husband died. She helped a lot of people.

And she's the one that insisted we never do on-line banking.

We had an entire dry erase wall for the random shit we would hear, I’ve been gone since 2017 but here’s some that stick out in my head:
    - my car is a lemon, it keeps needing fuel.
    - y’all repo’d my car with my dog and drugs in it.
    - can I get my pampers and cigarettes back?
    - you need Jesus and I need my car back.

Random other memories that stick with me.
    - Having to decide whether to give someone their truck back. Once I received pictures of the trucks condition, I said no. Dude had a dui breather that he somehow moved from the front dash to the kids car seat in the back.
    - One guy didn’t want us to take his camper so he buried it in the side of a hill. True fucking story. Never did get it back but worked out a payment plan. Wasn’t worth the effort.
    - One of our repo companies went to repo a car in a sketchy rural area. The owner of the vehicle came out with an AK. Repo agent called the cops and he went to jail and lost his car.
    - Every year our agents would ask us if they can take cars on holidays. Absolutely, go get that car from mama’s house on Easter Sunday while they’re at church.
    - I got involved with one repo. Monster Energy model ran off with her Mercedes in Florida. Well, I was going to Florida to go run my moms business for a week so I took a little trip, about 100 miles out of my way. I had suspicions about where the car was being kept. I found a car I’d been hunting for months. Miss Monster lost her Benz.

If any one is interested I have a new set of Diode Dynamics SSC2 lights with amber back light and combo light pattern. I also have a set of cali raised ditch light brackets to go with them. Looking to get $180 for the lights and $45 for the brackets. There are a few scratches on the brackets from kicking around my garage but nothing a fresh layer of paint can't fix. I'm located in Sandy if anyone is interested.
