nope nope nope nope nope nope......

I did Army Basic Training at Ft. McClellan, Alabama (an hour east of Birmingham) in August & September 1985. That was nasty as all hell. Some days the wet bulb index was so high, we were told ("allowed") to remove our outer uniform shirt (long sleeved) and un-blouse (un-tuck) our uniform pants from our boots to allow maximum air flow so we didn't pass out. One afternoon on a particularly bad day, we had just arrived at a "range" (a designated location for some particular type of training: first aid, Claymore mines, map reading, etc.), the Drill Instructors were moving around, telling us to take the aforementioned steps to stay cool, drink plenty of water, stay in the shade..... all of a sudden - <Splat!> - we heard someone hit the ground. We all looked around, and one of the Drill's had passed out and fallen over. We all got the point of staying cool really, really well.
