My A/C system has a leak. Over the last two years, I have charged it twice, and both times it was slightly low. This year, it's blowing slightly cold as usual before charging, and I went to add refrigerant but it's showing at the bottom of the charged line, however definitely in the "green". It won't take anymore as adding refrigerant won't make the needle climb. The air blows cool but definitely not as cold as it has been in the past.

    Does anyone have any advice?
    thanks in advance.

You need to have gauges on high and low side to properly diagnose/charge an A/C system, just reading the low side is a good way to overcharge a system.

Also those "quick charge" cans often contain stop leak which will kill an A/C system if any mositure/air enters the system or the charge gets very low.

use uv dye and a black light to locate your leak. Most common places would be schrader valves on the a/c lines and/or expansion valve.

those a/c machines that shops have draw vacuum on your system to check for leaks as well. but locating the leak would require dye. hopefully its not at the evaporator. from what ive seen, it requires the dash to be removed which can be a long process.

if it has a leak you need to fix that first.

Always on point. I would say you can limp a leak along with the cans, just for the love of god don't use the shit with sealant in it. Then when you actually need to fix it, you're gonna be spending more. Also based on OPs post, and going by a crappy can gauge, over charging can be just as bad as an under charge. Bottom line though, yeah, need the proper tools to do a proper fix. Just posting this for future searches.
