downgraded from 3.0 to 2.5 and couldn't be happier. 3.0 was overkill for my usage.

I would be curious to get more of your thoughts and experiences behind making that change.

Upgraded to king 2.5 and the front rides stiff imo. Wanted to know if this is a lot of preload. Also what would be a way to level the truck? This is my daily so I would like to make it ride comfortable.

Do you know what the spring rate is on these? If it is the "Standard" King (PN 25001-119-EXT) they should be 600lbs. More times people are complaining that they are too soft.

Ride quality can be effected by a few things:
-Too tall, too much preload shock topping out too quickly. Preload does not = thread showing. If those are 25001-119-EXT, the max recommended length at ride height should be around 21". See diagram below:
-Standard valving from King and too high of spring rate can also cause issues. Did you who ever you buy them from discuss spring rate options with you prior to buying?

More info on adjusting preload can be found here:

They kinda did, I also figured I didn’t need to upgrade the springs since the truck doesn’t have any extra weight
    Using 600lbs

"upgrade" could be seen two ways. 1) upgrading to a heavier rate spring 2) upgrading to a lighter rate spring

i don't run extra weight either, and if i ran 600lb springs it would be a beating. i run 14" 550lb on my Kings. and it drives like a dream, and i can even jump my truck. and i do.

So maybe it would be better to change to lighter springs? Because right now it rides pretty stiff when going over bumps

I am running 600 lb springs on my 2020 TRD OR with only the pro skid as added weight. Mine were tuned by AccuTune and have been amazing for over a year.
Did you change/upsize tires at the same time you did the suspension work? Perhaps you are running a bit too much pressure?

Did upgrade tires to LT 285/70R17
    Running about 38psi all around
I had to Fox pro suspension with westscott designs before and the front did ride smoother than now. Nothing has changed besides the kings

Hard to say without diving in deeper with your setup. Ride quality is subjective so Your version of "pretty stiff", could be fine to others. Its common to get this response with load range E tires as well. You can certainly try a lower tire pressure, like 30psi. With zero added weight on your truck, a 14" x 600lb spring is on the high side, but not horrible.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
If you went with "E" rated tires that will also make it a little stiffer.

agree, if you're on E tires then drop your pressure for the street. in the heat here in NTX i have 29 or 30psi cold in the AM, and they run 32-33 when warm. drop that down 2-3psi for the colder seasons. also, try learning to make a habit of popping your foot off the throttle when your fronts hit something whether a hole or bump. put it all together and you'll probably like the ride. if not, maybe consider 550's? even on 550lb springs i can't deal with over 35psi on my E tires on the street.

I’ll try lowering psi to see if it gets better but when I had the TRD Pro Fox suspension with 38psi it rode softer than now with the kings
