I got some of the stuff and a road map for the rest...
    Hey!
Towing adjacent...more of a hitch question, but I figure this is the place with that knowledge.

I am getting ready for an 8000 mile camping road trip (they call it overlanding now?) and I've got an 18" Curt hitch extender so I can open the tailgate without removing the bike rack.

It's sloppy AF and droops enough to scrape when exiting steep driveways.

My initial plan was to shim it up, then searched the forum and found this, which seems to be the best solution.

MaxxHaul 50023 Hitch Tightener Anti Rattle Stabilizer for 1.25" to 2" Hitches Reduce Movement On Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier Bike Rack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JDD8L3H

Any thoughts? I will be removing both at times when we go for off road joy rides and leave them at campsite so a quick solution would be nice.

    Cheers

you have found the solution. I have had a similar device on my hitch for over four years...no rattles!
