I'm looking for a easy to remove/foldable topper for my 3rd gen. I need the open bed for work during the week but it would be nice to have something I could use for camping on the weekends.

I've heard about the Softtopper and Bestop. Are there any other options?

I'm not aware of anything other than the Softopper and Bestop. I love my ST for just this reason. I'd love a hard shell but just can't commit to having it on there all the time :(

There is also a company, called Flated, making an "air topper" but when I originally checked they didn't have a Tacoma application and it was quite expensive compared to other options.

Sounds like the softopper is a great solution. It's very quick to install/remove if you leave the rails bolted to the bed all the time. That said, I don't use mine for sleeping in, I'd much rather keep my gear in the bed and setup a ground tent for sleeping.

The Softopper/Best Top fold down in minutes, completely removed in a few more. I run a Softopper over a Decked system, great sleeping platform. You can get 3-4 different add on rear tent/covers for added room with short beds, SlumberJack has a 10 foot add on with bug screen. Great solution for those needing a open bed some days and covered other days.

Saw the Flated on a Taco in Flagstaff a few weeks ago. It's a cool idea.
