Fog light switch

Hi, I tried to search but had no luck, then again I’m not to good at it..
I have a sr and added aftermarket fog lights. I wired the fog lights accord to the diagram..
Outside relay power to positive side of battery and black to ground. Yellow through fire wall to the switch and switch ground to body of truck, The power wire from the switch to an add a circuit using the empty usb slot with 5 amp fuse.. the light on the switch is always on even when the fog lights are off. Is this normal or did I do something wrong.. thanks in advance..

Thanks, but angry pixies and I are not good friends. Friggin' tore an ABS harness on a friend's 4Runner last weekend, but I did repair it? Hahaha!

About the only thing coming to mind is the switch harness wiring. Here's the typical diagram, if that helps?

Thanks this is a 3 wire switch. So maybe it will stay on always
Okay just tried it in the dark. The switch gets brighter when lights are on..

 

if you have the same wire harness that I got, yes the switch wires only have three. One for relay, one for power, and one for ground. Those oem style switches has a fourth wire if you want it illuminated at night when you turn the dash lights on.

 

Interesting. Those other folks will have to chime in on that. Can you post up a link from what you bought?

Do you have a part number or a link to the switch you are using. This will help in understanding how the switch functions.

 

Cfwj-0448-y does that help? According to their question and answer section..the light stays on but gets brighter when lights are on..

 

Yes, I found it. Unfortunately the website does not offer a wiring diagram. So without the switch and a voltmeter it is tough to say how it operates for illumination.
