When i put my a/c on yesterday it worked on all speeds except hi. When I pulled the controls out this is what I found. Will this be an easy fix or do I have to replace the plug and controls. It's a 2015 sport. Hopping you all can help me out on this one.ac plug.jpg ac control.jpg

You may have other issues associated with this plug and instrument control. Id check the blower motor plug along with the resistor/wire plug. Look under the passenger side glovebox. These two issue are connected.

My apologies. You will see burnt wires and or a burnt connectors leading to and from the blower motor and resistor.

upload_2022-6-23_18-6-53.jpg Plug #1 is the resistor.( Yours might be the newer square design) plug # 2 is for the blower motor. Hope this helps and best if luck with the repair.

I just fought a blower motor issue in my 08. Ended up running a new wire from the heater relay to the blower motor to fix it.

Before you spend a bunch of money on parts. Ohm out the controls. As you cycle through fan speeds. The ohms should drop as the resistance lowers as fan speed increases on the B/Y wire at the motor connector. If it doesn't, then the control switch is probably bad.

Or you could borrow a fan control switch from another truck to test the issue.

This happened to my ‘09. I replaced basically everything. I still have a bag of the control panel connectors and pins, replacement panel was about $100 on eBay, and Toyota has an upgraded resistor and harness pigtail for the fan side.

I just went through similar. I have the new upgrade connector and resistor in my parts box and the work to install them is actually pretty easy except for the short length of wire you will have to work with under the dash. In the interim I just scraped the connectors clean with a little screwdriver and my blower is working fine again on all speeds with the original resistor. Has been working fine again for a couple months. So that job is on the back burner for now. I'd say try that first. The crud on the contacts is not as bad as it looks... and your wires may be fine like mine were and are.

Just pulled the resister. It looks like it's rusty on the top corners. Is that normal ?

Looks pretty normal. No obvious issues as far as I can see.

Just do not run the fan with the resistor out of the air flow as it will overheat and burn out if you do on any speed but high. It is in the ventilation flow for cooling the resistor.
