unfortunately that company doesnt get very good reviews which is why the name is blurred or starred out on here. Do some quick researching on here and you can read some of the horror stories with shipping and receiving product. Image Dynamic of today is not what they were 20years ago either. I have the same truck and decided to go with a Kenwood HU, sound deadened my doors and i have 2 sets of components and debating on putting up front. I have some Morel 6x9 components and some Hertz 6.5 components. I just havent decided which set i am using up front yet. I'm leaving the rear stock as they are only rear-fill and will be running an Audio Control amp to the front and a single sub.

I have a Taco Tunes 10 inch sub box and bought a harness adapter to hook up an amp. I had zero issues with them, but I have read the horror stories. I guess I got lucky. What I did get was great quality and would buy again from them.

@j-utah Used a few of their items, but with a different amp and head unit.

I like the image dynamics speakers, no complaints. I think their amps are good. The nice thing is they have a bit of support with the you tube videos. Make sure their amps have a DSP, I’m pretty sure they do. Or the kit does. This will help retune your head unit to sound better. Also it might be worth calling them to confirm that the stuff in the kit is still available and what their current lead times are. When I pulled the trigger, they told me they didn’t have the amp. Then I had to get my own amp and DSP. Then I decided that wiring up the DSP was going to be too hard for me. And finding a place to put it. So I went all in and replaced the head unit. Had to return some stuff to t-a-c-o tunes and that worked fine.

their stuff is OK I think. Mid grade is a good description. You can get better, but depends on your expectations I guess. Hard to compare and evaluate. I got the best stuff they had, better front speakers, just to make sure I’d be happy. Their sound matting kit is really good. Thick material. It’s a lot to install though, pretty big project for me but got faster after the first door. All their of matting vids are for the 2nd gen.

hope all this is not TMI, i have an install thread where you can see how I mixed and matched. Might give you some ideas. It’s long and I ramble a bit.

well I made it through a post with no f-bombs. Good to have goals.

It took some patience with them. And time of you have it. Potentially. They seem to be boutique shop and have typical issues. I had no big issues.

If to had to do it over again I might have looked for different speakers. I recall at the time that the CXS64 speakers I got for the front were a good value. I do like them, no complaints. I’m pumping a lot of base through them.

I don't know the price differences, but I would definitely look at the OEM+ set-up. But with at least the subwoofer amplifier, and recommend the 2nd subwoofer if that's within budget. I had this in my truck with an aftermarket headunit and I was always amazed at the sound quality. It was a hair lacking in bass, but the additional amp (and bass knob) helped tremendously. But I always wished they offered a 10-inch sub with a hair more power. I remember shuffling through sources and getting a smile at the sound quality (even Sirius, which is notoriously compressed). Install is stupid easy, and plug and plug even with the aftermarket headunit. All you have to run is two wires to the battery and the rest is just connecting plugs.

I really appreciated the OEM+ system after I got into a different vehicle with the same headunit and a pieced together system consisting of Polk component speakers, Audio Control amplifiers, and an Alpine 10-inch sub and it doesn't hold a candle to the OEM+ stuff. More bass, but a good system is more than just that.

It's a chunk of change to throw at the truck, believe me, I didn't want to. But the simplicity of the whole thing was what finally sealed the deal for me. No constant amp tweaking. I pretty much set the equalizer and a few other things on the headunit and forgot it.

^^^. This is spot on. And I looked hard at OEM+ and decided on my path with a mix and match for more bass. And it allowed me to spend more money in certain areas

It's all subjective, but if I was to put a quantity onto the OEM+ bass output with the additional amplifier I would've said a lightly driven, medium-tiered 10-inch subwoofer. It might be enough for a feller. I tend to be happy in the 300w range of a decent 10-inch in a non-ported enclosure. When I got the extra amplifier (it didn't exist when I initially bought my system), I would've loved to get the second sub, but my cab set-up didn't leave room for it.

Yep, totally agree. And I really wasn’t sure. Decided the best route for me was one 12” sub after some reading. I was pretty sure one 10 was not going to be enough for me.
