What ^ said. I have replaced 6 cylinder heads on Tacoma's and Highlanders for that code. It always fails the leak down test. The Exhaust valves are not seating and leaking past. To verify after I remove the head, is to take the cams out, flip the head over and pour water into the combustion chamber. Then wait for the water to start leaking out. Then look in the intake and exhaust ports to see where its going.

Ok. They said it’s a cylinder imbalance. Either intake or burnt valve

they probably figure he'd just lose it in his purse so they didn't bother providing it or even explaining what's actually wrong with the truck.

The whole post is just sort of a waste of time without real details.

Is there a reason they would bill under extended warranty. Doesn’t this fall under 100k power trane since is likely burnt valve. I’ll get the code and post when they call back Monday. It sounds very likely P11Ec but. The service guy brought out his little personal pocket scanner. I guessing the dealer tech will provide a solid code we can all relate too. Sorry some of you feel I’m wasting time. I help other when I can. I just get anxiety about my baby being torn apart by someone other than me. I don’t know how but they don’t treat peoples things like a smaller shops do.

There are 2 things I would not do.

    1. Have a warranty and not use it.

    2. Listen anyones opinion that doesn’t pertain to the topic on hand. (YOUR engine)

I have a 2nd Gen with 4.0. It will break, they all break eventually.

Ask them the code number before they tear it apart. No one here can understand the tear down, but if you get the code it’s throwing someone may have ideas of possible causes.

Bc they can bill them more than toyota would pay out for it. If they’re tearing the engine apart, see if you can get them to do the spark plugs too, and other preventative maintenance. Everything’s already out of the way if they’re tearing the engine apart

If it's a Toyota vsa they're paying the exact same thing as factory.

I am a dick but not for no reason. This thread is beyond pointless. It's literally..

"Hey I got a check engine light and idk what's wrong but the dealer said maybe everything is ok or maybe I need a new motor lol bye"

Yeah...that's not a reason to be a dick to the OP.

If you find the thread pointless, then just move on to another thread.
