I have dynamic nav in my truck so I don't need the phone, but when I had my RAV4 I used Apple Car Play to do this rather than the Toyota app and Scout. Just FYI, there are a lot better apps than Scout. I tried that at first and it sucked. Google Maps worked much better. I'm sure other people can make recommendations on apps as well.

You may have the basic unit that only allows Apple Car Play or Google Maps as an option. I thought I had purchased the Toyota Entune system like my wife had in her 2018 Highlander, but it was discontinued a year or two before I bought my 2021 Tacoma.

If you have something else I don't know about, then it may be different but that's what I went through... I even went back to the dealership and they weren't well versed on the topic until I did research...

Do you have an android phone? Download android auto and use Google Maps. Works pretty well, but you need to keep your phone plugged in. I prefer to just set the phone on the dash...

True... Have to keep it plugged in for maps to appear. Forgot to mention that...
