Wasn’t even parked in my truck as I had just finished unloading lumber and such for a landscaping project BUT I was parked on the dead end alley behind my home that my detached garage sits on (which is where I normally park) but like I said I had just finished unloading and was getting a drink inside and boom! Someone attending a pool party at the house that sits at the end of the alley reversing back up the alley hits my truck. I know it’s not totaled but guesses on damages and any advice and tips I might not be thinking of other than taking the drivers information and their insurance info…SafeAuto :(

Sorry for the photo overload and the passenger door won’t open unless I would force it open FYI

Trying to stay level headed but obviously very upset.

    TIA

Get on top of a rental as fast as you can. If you need one. Truck might be in the shop for a while waiting on parts or laborers.

Take it to a Toyota certified collision center, and let them fix it. Enjoy your rental for a couple weeks, and then pick it up when it’s done like nothing happened.

    Oh look, another mod....

Look on the bright side: If they total it out, you won't have to witness that Super-White paint job flaking & peeling.

This turned out to be $2500, same general area, but my door opened fine so I'm guessing you'll be over that a fair bit.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
BS! Vehicle has outside mirrors, doesn't it? How do you miss a white damned truck right behind you?! As a truck driver, I see it every day: people don't even turn their damned heads and look anymore.

They certainly don't. And I blame backup cameras. Why look around when you can put your face in a screen?!?!

Actually….knock on wood…it’s a 2017 and no previous Super-white flaking or peeling to report whatsoever

This was $6,800. Basically: hood, bumper, passenger headlight, grill and surround, body work on passenger fender, misc. brackets and a bunch of other odds and ends....paint for hood, bumper and both fenders.
My deductible was $500. My rental coverage is 80/20 up to $1,500; my cost for a 3 week rental was $210.

My first quote was from the only Toyota certified collision center in my area. I passed on them after they tried blowing smoke up my ass regarding parts availability. ETA: I also didn't care for their timeline from initial estimate to teardown to adjusted estimate to completion...and the fact it would be rendered inoperable after teardown.

I wouldn't be concerned with the quality of their insurance. It's the quality of your insurance you should be worried about.

Fender, bumper cover and wheel well trim along with some plastic fasteners. If you forced the passenger door open, possibly a new door skin.
