POSTING A REVIEW FOR KDMAX PRO AND KDMAX PRO+XT ON A MANUAL TRANSMISSION

    1. KDMAX PRO+XT
    - LAMBDA (AIR/FUEL MIXTURE) OF THE ENGINE IS ALWAYS BEING CLOSE TO 1 AT ANY RPM
    - SHORT TERM AND LONG TERM FUEL TRIMS WAS GOOD
    - TORQUE IS OUTSTANDING THROUGH OUT ALL GEARS
    - LESS DOWNSHIFTING COMPARED TO PRO TUNE ( STEP ON THE GAS AND IT WILL PULL THE TRUCK )
    - MAXIMUM MPG REACHED AT 18MPG
    - THIS IS A PERFECT TUNE FOR BIGGER TIRE UPGRADE (YOU DON'T NEED TO RE-GEAR DIFF BECAUSE OF THE TORQUE THIS TUNE IS GIVING OUT)

    2. KDMAX PRO
    - LAMBDA (AIR/FUEL MIXTURE) OF THE ENGINE IS ALWAYS BEING CLOSE TO 1 AT ANY RPM
    - SHORT TERM AND LONG TERM FUEL TRIMS WAS PERFECT
    - PERFECTLY SMOOTH RUNNING ENGINE (FEELS LIKE YOUR TRUCK WILL REACH 1 MILLION MILES WITHOUT A PROBLEM)
    - LESS DOWNSHIFTING COMPARED TO STOCK ( STEP ON THE GAS AND IT WILL PULL THE TRUCK )
    - MAXIMUM MPG REACHED AT 20MPG
    - THIS IS A PERFECT TUNE FOR AN ALL STOCK DAILY DRIVER BUT WANTS MORE POWER THAT IS FAR OFF FROM STOCK.

ALL TUNES WAS GIVEN CLOSE TO 1000 MILES AND 2 TANKS OF DAMN EXPENSIVE FUEL EACH. HAHAHA

MANUAL TRANSMISSION IS ALWAYS FUN TO DRIVE. YOU ARE THE MASTER OF THE CAR, YOU DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO BLOW IT UP OR NOT.

THANK YOU @PapaRee AND @TWTaco [IMG]

@JDKred, I feel like I owe you a response after driving my new KD Max Pro + XT tune on Lite throttle for a couple of tanks and weeks. Since I have two variables in the tune and the throttle, I'm not sure which is causing the effects I'm seeing. When I first got in with the Lite tune, I would have told you the accelerator pedal felt dead after switching from normal throttle. It doesn't feel like throttle lag, but just not the power from the pedal that I felt with the normal tune on Pro +. I like that I don't have the jerkiness from a stop that was present with the normal throttle on Pro +. I would tell you that this new tune with Lite throttle, drives exactly like you expected the truck to run from Toyota. It seems to shift into 6th a little early for my liking, but I'm sure that's helping my gas mileage, and there is still plenty of power in 6th to prevent lots of downshifting. I got 22.3 mpg today in very windy conditions. My truck is stock except for tube steps and a tonneau cover. If you have more weight on your truck and don't mind the jerky starts, you might want to stay with normal. I would say the Lite throttle or tune has improved my mpg by 1 or 1.5 mpg so far. I can see big improvement under hard acceleration as it doesn't feel starved for fuel and shifts through the gears very smoothly. It will be hard to improve on this tune. I'm not beating everyone off the line at stop lights now but I plan to stick with the Lite throttle. Thanks to @PapaRee and @TWTaco.

    Reminder
If you have a HUD- Heads up Display from KTJO4x4, you have to disconnect it to flash a tune on your truck. It will give you an error “User is not connected to the same vehicle. Flashing is disabled”

After it is disconnected, you can flash the tune to the truck without any problems. Then you can re-connect the HUD.

Got the chance to work with Chris again (@wahoobie) yesterday (25JUNE) updating from Pro+ to Pro+XT...The Pro+XT Normal is fantastic, a perfect fit for my 2020 OR, and improved upon the Pro+ Normal...Driving 66E from Front Royal (meet-up location) to DC is rolling in sections and the XT did a great job keeping the truck at speed and in the appropriate gear to maintain said without excessive shifting...Overall drivability improves with each KDMAX release and I continue to be impressed with just what this tune is able to do...If you're in DC/MD/VA, don't hesitate to contact Chris to get tuned, he is professional, knowledgeable, and stands behind his work and the product, an absolute pleasure to do business with...Thanks again!

Since going the same route 1-1/2 years ago I can tell you I've enjoyed meeting new folks, seeing what/where I should mod my truck, and a nice supplement to income. The overhead costs are important to know but for me easily paid for with just a few tunes.

Highly recommended if you like helping people out and have some time to toss at it!

I'm confused about the elephant in the room. Lots of positive reviews, but installers seem to be bailing out. What's up ?
