I recently bought an 98 extended cab 3.4. The a/c doesn’t work. Light won’t come on. I’ve checked compressor and clutch engages and engages when turn defrost on. But when I have the blower on and turn on the right turn signal it kills the engine. I’m guessing a short somewhere. And maybe the 2 issues aren’t connected but I don’t have any idea where to begin. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hey, I also have an intermittent A/C short in my F150. I replaced the entire A/C system last year...EVERY SINGLE COMPONENT...and it works great now. But twice now it's shorted and blown the fuse controlling the sensor. I keep spare fuses in the glove compartment. Switch it out and A/C works again. I took it to my fav mechanic and they could not replicate the problem to find where the short is.

If your clutch switches on and off quickly, you likely have low refrigerant.

Your blinker shutting off the engine sounds like a hassle of problems to figure out. Good luck.

Break out your Meter your system voltage is to low it causes the ECM to shut down.

Could be any number of electrical issues .

Shorts cause open fuses or a Burning Truck till the circuit opens .

The joys of getting a new to you vehicle up to speed.
