I'd have to take apart a stock rack and see but like the lc200 racks everyone is raving about has the potential to skip teeth more than the tundra racks because the LC rack gear teeth are stamped and not machined like the tundra ones are...much more rounded.
To get you by you could tighten down the pinion preload nut some to help eliminate the slop/backlash to help prevent the skip. When I do the tundra racks I set em up pretty snug to avoid any slop

Ya I’ve never had good luck with that.it ends of being to tight and steering wheel will not return or not smooth. I was thinking If a delron bushing was placed before the inner tierod on the driverside would help not allow the main shaft to not move out of alignment.

Will be test fitting this template/guide jig on some installs im doing locally to check my measurements...this will take alot of the guesswork out of doing this conversion and make it much easier for the weekend fabricator to do the install themselves. Once finalized I'll be providing this template with the racks I sell from here on out.

Fair enough….I wanna do the Tundra swap instead of wasting time with another Tacoma rack and busting that one. But I need something done asap because my rack is leaking pretty bad.

Everytime I try to make my lead time shorter than 3-4 weeks....people buy my in stock ones too fast to keep the supply train goin lol. And I do this in my offtime from my fire helicopter job which has a set 2 week on 2 week off schedule...and im one dude lol. So doing this template I'm really trying my best to make this option as painless as possible

I'd love to do more truck stuff if I can...I enjoy it more than my career lol. Recently invested in a full size plasma table even just to be able to more easily run with ideas and try stuff out, and of course make a little bit of money to fund my money pit of the hobby lol

Well here it is the locating template piece I had mentioned....this will now come with racks ordered through me to aid in locating where to cut your holes for the new frame barrels. This should take a majority of the guesswork out and cut down on the scary factor for you guys lol.

I hope this will help...if all else fails I included a bottle opener in it

Sick! So I believe I read all the posts, correct me if I am wrong this rack will:
1- Use the oem tacoma inner and outer rods, am I correct?
2- The hydraulic lines are direct bolt on?
3- the input coming from steering wheel must be welded for to match splines in the tundra rack.
    4- what’s the current pricing?

keep up the good work dude!

    1- yes
    2- yes
3 - input splines and stuff are the same but the steering shaft is generally too long and needs to be shortened about an inch.
4- 1300$ plus shipping, comes with everything in that last picture and a installation guide.

im working on getting another run of them together PM me if you want to get in the next run.
typical lead time is 3-4 weeks.

Awesome! Plan is next year if everything goes as planned. Based on all the research I have done in regards of the topic I dare to say this is the way to go for anyone doing serious 4LO stuff with 35”s and up. Cheers dude!
