$220 labor as of now. I use their proprietary tools for removal/install.

    What does
have anything to do with an assumption and uniformed advice that you are spreading? I did literally no research. Yukon is a know quantity, as is Nitro, ECGS, etc. I saw the item on Amazon and ordered up with confidence.

If you're sure it is the same thing, then why would you sway folks away?

Not sure where you are going with this dude. Its pretty easy to understand... If you have 2 similar products:

Product A: Hundreds of reviews, write ups, happy customers, ETC

Product B: Part found on Amazon, barely anyone has even heard of them.

The choice is a no brainer.

Sorry you don't do research on parts you buy but most of us do.

I'm going with, just because you never heard of it doesn't make it wrong. You do realize that Yukon is one of that suppliers that ECGS uses to actually assemble gears? They are a known quantity.

    known quantity?

Your right. Just because I don't know doesn't mean anything... But the fact that hundreds have used the ECGS bushing with success sure does. Not sure why you can't understand that lol. Its like ordering a product with 5 start reviews compared to buying something with no reviews.

The bushing is not a unique invention of ECGS. Sintered bushings (PTFE bushings in particular) are used across numerous industries. This is not a unique application.

Not surprisingly, there are many manufacturers and it's a safe assumption that they're all of similar quality and design. There's really not much to change or screw up.

I also wouldn't be surprised if these all come out of the same factory.

While I understand your sentiment, that you've never heard of Yukon, that does not justify warning people not to buy them. There are plenty of members here with the Yukon bushing.

Tw member, "I don't like this cause there is no reviews"
Other tw member, "see its fine" posts a screen shot of the product displaying its lack of reviews.

My point wasn't to prove that Yukon bushings have reviews, which they do, if you seek them out. My point is that there are many manufacturers for this part and it's ridiculous to warn against using them, because YOU have never heard of them.

Would you avoid buying shoelaces, because they have no reviews? Do you insist on only buying Nike shoelaces?

Probably not, because it's a ubiquitous part and really doesn't need or deserve a review.

Let me know when your mind is at ease...

So good, folks just know to use it.

    :rofl::rofl:

I guess in the end, I'll whip it out and say that the Yukon bushing is a quality part that I would use on another Taco with confidence. Also, props to ECGS for getting a solution in place to start with. I would have purchased from them but the wait time could have been an issue at the time.

My apologies to @fourfourone if it sounded personal, but it was not.

I was just laughing at the fact that your response to man's concern with lack of reviews of a product, was to post a screenshot of the product for a web page where it had no reviews. lol

I don't judge companies by their mistakes, rather than how they handle said mistakes. Hopefully they use this as a learning experience and tighten their quality control. I had good luck when I ordered mine from them.

Hmmm, now we are comparing 16 year old fast food workers to employees of a reputable/professional business? Yikes. Where does this acceptable under-performance end? Uber drivers, bus drivers airline pilots, surgeons, policy makers? Personally, I have differing expectations depending on the business. I’m not a one-size-fits-all kind of guy. This is one reason we have $5 gas- low expectations, excuses, no plan.

Does anyone happen to know or have the OD/ID on the correct part for a 3rd gen?

I have one on order from ECGS and want to make sure I’ve got the right one prior to tear down. Paranoid? Yes!

Used the Yukon Bushing. installed easy and no problems.

Also, I would like to give you guys some tips for installing your bushings.

    1. For the love of God, or any other higher power you guys believe in, please don’t use a socket… Unless you have that good of aim or can hold that sucker steady, it ain’t worth it. Get yourself a circular, flat piece of metal like a bushing driver, or a bearing race driver big enough to give a flat hitting surface so you aren’t gouging the hell out of the bushing like I did the first time. Wasted 94 bucks w overnight shipping for one of the Yukon ones, don’t want to talk about it haha.

    2. After having removed the axle nut, I can say it is not necessary to pull the axle all the way out, so don’t even bother. The only things you need to remove are the two lower ball joint bolts, and the one stabilizer link bolt. That’s it. No need to mess with the tie rod either. Then just take something and tap at the back of the axle to hit it out, or use a pry bar. The first time the axle comes out will be difficult.

    3. Make sure the axle seal is pretty much flush with the carrier to the point where the flexible rubber part is sticking out past it. Mine was maybe like 0.5mm-1mm back deeper from the carrier, just so I could feel a teeeeny tiny little groove with my nail. Don’t hit it in too far like I did, and then have to pull the axle back out because it started leaking on the ground. Just get it right the first time like I should’ve and could’ve done.
