I just bought this awesome truck. I got a good deal and was willing to fix the bent bumper.

The vehicle report showed that it would cost $11k to fix. That seems outrageous.
I think it was written off since more was owed on it as well.
I don't have any under carriage pics - at least not yet.
I'm thinking the frame ends are bent and the bed has a bend too.
Is $11k way too much? Insurance companies usually get quotes that are on the far and high side.

    Thanks again.

Really hard to say without more photos of the under carriage. Any photos of how the bed lines up to with the cab? What type of title does it have? When you say written off, does it have a salvage title?

Just by looking at how angled down the hitch is, there is a solid chance the rear frame ends are bent. Here's a few other posts of very similar accidents/damage. There isn't really a good fix for it other than buying a new frame and swapping everything over but then again there's a change the frames okay. More pics to enlighten the story would help.

edit: 11K for a frame swap including a new frame seems a little low to me but again maybe the frames okay or repairable.

I would definitely get that frame inspected professionally.
Could be my imagination, but the whole box looks out of whack.

that frame looks bent. the bed isn't level with the rest of the truck. it needs a new frame. 11k seems about right with a new frame.

When my 2018 OR DCLB was rear-ended last year, the insurance company did the repair estimate, not any body shop. Progressive totaled it.

Look at the tow hitch. It's bent way down. Where the tow hitch bolts to the frame will be very clearly bent. Toyota doesn't recommend heating up their frames when pulling due to UHS steel. Has to be a cold repair and ain't no one pulling that frame straight cold. I'd be ready to buy a new frame or sell that truck to the next person. It won't be a safe vehicle unless you fix it correctly.

That's easily $11k, and typically the initial insurance estimate is low. Body shops provide an initial estimate, but costs increase as the vehicle is dismantled and additional damage is discovered.

If it drives fine, but an after market bumper on it and drive it. Don't worry about it.

Post some pictures where the bumper attaches to the frame. The tail gate looks damaged. Dose the tail gate open without binding? Also post a picture of where the bed meets the cab on both sides.
