Oh, and the door doesn't work IRL. Goes together just fine in studio but I just can't get the real thing to go together.

    Lego math strikes again.

Keep this ratio in mind: two studs width is equivalent to five stacked plates. Those 1x1 bricks with single stud on the side bias their connecting to the top of that five plates. Realign the build so the bricks have two plates underneath them for every two-stud incriment on the edge piece.

    Hopefully that made sense...

Worked up a quick diagram. Your design (as best I can tell) is on the left, adjusted version on the right. Different colors used to make parts easier to discern. The design on the right uses one brick less and three plates more, but realigns the SNOT bricks to connect with the edge plates. Hope this helps.

    Glad it worked!

Yeah, I guess hinges might be important for a door...

    just a bit
i was swapping things out and restacking pieces to try to make it work, just wasn't getting the right combo between keeping the grey brick/plate band i have going on and figuring out where to put the hinges.

Glad it worked out eventually. The Lego math puzzle is part of what I enjoy about making MOCs

In other news, this pretty much kills CMFs for me

i saw something about the packaging on IG too. definitely a bummer.
at least give us the little "braille" type dots on the back like they used to. or a little cellophane window to have a peak inside
i wonder if they'll have individual figs for sale on the site now instead of just a random blind purchase?

From the sound of it, completely blind packaging. No windows or indicators. Sounds like Vidiyo was the dry run for this type of thing

When they were $2-$3.50, they were fun to pick up without a second thought. At $5, I already have a hard time paying for a single minifig knowing which one it is. Now that there will be no way to figure out if you're getting the minifig you're after? Pass. I don't like that gamble.

I’ll continue to buy them buy the box. However I think it’s a poor choice by Lego.

Thanks for the tutorial @MTgirl and @Sear87
    The truck looks awesome Weesa!

Thanks too for the heads up on the minifig packaging changes, Chris. The only time this mattered to me was when I was getting one as a present.

I’m sorry for those of you who are affected.

Doesn’t seem right for a major, international corporation to be able not to identify an item they are selling.

Is “Brick Days Omaha” Trademarked? If so, you couldn’t put it on the minifig but it seems you could still have the stand.

Looks like the action is limited to, “3rd party logos, names of organizations, and trademarks onto LEGO Minifigures”

Yeah, printed/engraved bricks are still okay for now, but it honestly wouldn't surprise me if they went after those, too.

You could literally just sell stickers to put on minifigs. Loophole.

Can't be LEGO branded stuff from what I can tell, so 3rd party items are free game.
