BAKFlip X4s with bed rack?

Hey there,
Anyone able to mount a bed rack with the BAKFlip revolver x4s tonneau cover?

I’m looking for something like this



I like the idea of keeping the roof clean and keeping the basket over the bed…

 

Probably could the only issue is you wouldn't be able to perform the last 'flip' and locking down the cover (when open) would be an issue.

 

The x4s is a rolling cover though

 

I have an X4. Very doubtful that you'd be able to mount a rack. The tracks and locking mechanism would likely get in the way.

Although hard to tell how that mounts. Do you have to bolt it to the top of the bedsides? The X4 is extremely flush so just doesn't feel like there would be any space.

 

Not exactly what you’re looking for but I’ve been running BillieBars with the Bakflip MX4 for the last year or so. You could definitely mount a basket on the BillieBars.

 

The X4s would never fit under those bars
I may have to go with a roof rack…I just hate cleaning the snow and ice out of them.

 

Gotcha. Wasn’t sure if you already had the X4 or not.

 

I have the x4s with a bed rack, but the bed rack has optional adapters to rise it. Works well. You need to make sure your rack supports will fit under the x4s rails and there’s enough clearance to roll.

 

I’ve emailed black horse about this set up.
It says “tonneau compatible” I just don’t know if it’s X4s compatible….
I’d also like to find a local dealer to purchase and install it…
If anyone has one I’d love hear about it.
I even found a pic of an AG OR with one..

 

The issue with the MX4 and why I'm looking at the lomax is that the factory rails get removed and you install their rails. Not a whole lot is compatible with their rails. I know KB Voodo makes a rack system designed to go on there but that rack you posted doesn't look compatible with them.

Which bed rack is that and height?

 

This is the RCI bed rack, 12 inches (plus the 3 inches tonneau adapters). This brings the rack up to just shy of the cabin. I don’t see it in the mirror.

But pretty much decided to go with a roof rack for now….The Prinsu looks like the one I’m going with

 

Woah OP this looks awesome! If someone can figure out if it works with the Bakflip MX4 (the trifold one) I would love to know

 

It says specifically, that it will work with the BAKFlip 4xs….there’s even a picture of it installed with the 4xs rolled up…it’s $1700 as is..once you add an accessory or two or three your well in to 2k….
I’m going to start with the Prinsu roof rack…that with handles is going to run 1k so little by little I’ll get it done…
