Volume trouble with JBL head unit

I recently traded in my 2016 2WD and upgraded to a 2019 TRDOR 4x4. The new truck has the JBL head unit - I’m having trouble with it when I’m streaming Spotify from my phone and running GPS. The music will turn down when there is a prompt from the GOS, but then it doesn’t turn back up afterwards. I believe I can eliminate my phone as the problem as I didn’t have this problem with my 2016.

Anyone heard of this and maybe have a solution?

The pic is just because I think my truck is pretty badass
