$325 Million Yacht Amadea

Sailed into San Diego Bay yesterday. Seized from Russian oilgarch Suleiman Keimov (Forbes est. worth $14.5 billion) in Fiji, the 348 ft. luxury super yacht is creating quite the buzz on the waterfront. About 8 miles away, I'm going to see if I can get a closer look tomorow, but I've heard security is tight.

When can we started buying these seized yachts for pennies on the dollar?!?! Though, everyone knows the two happiest days in a boat owner's life...

The day they buy the boat, and the day they sell the boat! Even my dad's 17-foot Larson inboard/outboard turned into a floating money pit!

 

The amount of money spent on these toys for the super-rich is grotesque. For a tenth that, I and all of my friends would be retired.

I spent a summer in the South of France and Monaco. Stayed in the principality artist studios above the port of Hercules. Saw a lot of yachts of course. The Lady Moura was probably the biggest one that summer. Google says 344’

I couldn't even imagine enjoying a weekend with my wife on that thing. I feel, we'll add another child to our stable due to it. It's also a life I'll never live nor understand. . Welcome to middle class but I'm grateful to what I do have.

 

They're very stunning. I found myself daydreaming and getting lost in the pictures.

 

Looks like it has a good lower level fishing platform, but bet it really uses the gas. Best I pass on that one and stick with the canoe.
