Looking for a rear bumper that will address my situation.

I have a 3rd gen taco that is pretty much stock. On road trips I often carry a dual sport moto on a Versa-Haul carrier whose length leaves me with a terrible departure angle. It often grinds even coming out of driveways, nevermind forest roads with grade dips and exposed rocks.

There are extenders with rise I could use but don't want to extend the moto even further back. Adds too much leverage reducing carrying capacity, not to mention an extra connection with more play. Suspension lift is also out of the question as I only have 1/3" clearance getting into my garage.

So I'm interested in rear bumpers that have an integrated received that will be higher than a stock receiver to provide more ground clearance for the moto carrier. This would likely mean a high clearance bumper with a receiver behind a flip up licence plate or similar.

    A few criteria:

    - have an integrated 2" receiver that will raise the receiver as much as possible vs stock
    - needs to support tongue weight of 500lbs or more. I don't tow trailers.
    - prefer bolt on with no cutting of body panels
    - can't be hidden too far forward vs stock or the moto could sway and contact my camper
    - don't care much about other features such as light mounts, etc.
    - less expensive is a bonus, as is location in Socal so I can pick up rather than ship.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

I feel like your best bet is to talk to a local fabricator and have them modify your carrier to sit up higher, or make you a new one.

That might be the case. And wouldn't be cheap, but neither are the bumpers I've seen. Most seem to say "not load rated" which hopefully means they're simply not tested for capacity rather than unable to carry much weight.

If a fabricator could simply relocate the receiver higher and make it work with the existing bumper that might cut the cost down vs fabricating a whole new bumper from scratch. Ditto if they could modify my carrier to raise it up.

Something like this would be easiest and cheapest but would like to avoid spacing the carrier another 10" back. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00I486BTY?_encoding=UTF8&aaxitk=c8a85a3c80fa22c38a6b1cec6b30434e&content-id=amzn1.sym.53aae2ac-0129-49a5-9c09-6530a9e11786%3Aamzn1.sym.53aae2ac-0129-49a5-9c09-6530a9e11786&hsa_cr_id=2314173220001&pd_rd_plhdr=t&pd_rd_r=b0765612-9c3c-4e1c-8aed-633f8a929bc0&pd_rd_w=gpz2L&pd_rd_wg=ZfCR0&qid=1656488766&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_mcd_asin_2_title&sr=1-3-a094db1c-5033-42c6-82a2-587d01f975e8

Even if I could get the new arms fabricated that angle upward rather than straight back that would help a lot. Though the carrier also drags right in the middle at times.

    I'd echo the fabricator route.
Bumpers are pretty expensive, and not sure you could gain much height.
Looks like you have a straight tube on that. And looks like it steps up in size just out of the hitch.
Also that it has a receiver at the end is interesting. Was that custom to start?
Could maybe fab a tube with a dogleg that goes up about 6 inches or so and then levels out again for the moto.
Might make it tough to lower the tailgate with the rack on, so I'd fit the dogleg height to allow dropping the tailgate.

Thanks Jim, good point about being able to lower the tailgate. That could be an issue with a new bumper or a new fabricated tube.

The carrier is a Versa haul. Most of their products come stock with a receiver on the back end, the idea being you could haul a small trailer behind the carrier if need be. Or in my case, a MTB rack. The step up in size is to accommodate the rear receiver.
