I took a razor and cut a small slit for each hook. It worked out really well.

Pulled out the frosted glass and installed the Slim Shade Window from Amazon. Didn't like not being able to see through the original window, that it had no shade to keep the camper darker at night when trying to sleep, and now we're able to be more stealth when needed.

The install was super easy. Used about a dozen popsicle sticks shoved into the small slots around the OEM window. This spread the clips holding it in place and I was then able to separate the outer and inner pieces and remove it. The new one went in super easy too, just a bunch of screws. Prolly took 30 minutes.

This might be one of the first mods my wife and I do to our SCOUT. I showed her and she loved it.

This is awesome! I'm with you I can't stand that I cannot see out of the back window! Thanks for the post! Also I cannot wait to add windows to the front sleeping area!

I'm not a big fan of the windows at the nose. I'd be afraid of them being damaged going down the freeway. My side windows already show streaks and small scratches, not sure how the fronts would hold up to the hours of 60-70mph bugs slamming into them, or to an instant of a rock.

The one place I cared the most about getting the Scout to. Made it no issue.

Nice! We got away from the crowds this Fourth weekend in our Scout. And our EcoFlow Wave AC was delivered!

Does anyone use rubber bumpers (or another method) to keep the Scout from hitting the truck bed and bending it? Trying to decide if I need that before picking up the camper next week. I am using a mat under the camper. I can’t tell if the people that are having issues are not using a mat or what. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

I haven't heard of any Tacoma beds bending, especially with our composite beds. I just have those tiny lil bumpers that came on the camper barely contacting the front of my bed, lol. I'm sure I could do something better, but to stick to your question, no, nothing added and nothing bent.

Okay..good to know! It was on the Scout Facebook group that I read a bunch of posts (some with pictures) of messed up truck beds after the camper hit up against it. It got me worried so figured I’d ask here…thanks for the reply.

I leave about an inch gap between the back of the scout and the bed wall of the truck (closest to the cab)...I know scout put those little wear pads, I just don't want it rubbing anywhere... Done a fair amount of off-road and highway miles and this seems to do just fine

I wouldn't want a gap. Id be worried of an emergency stop and the camper slamming forward and doing more damage to the bed, instead of the straps and bed sharing the load. Just my opinion!

I made some changes to the Yoho propane lines to be able to use any type of camping stove that normally runs off those little green bottles to run off of the scout propane lines even with the quick connect! This was because we didn't buy our scout with the Domestic/Scout stove and already owned a camping stove. I also added a line to be able to BBQ or hook the cooking stove up outside like you can on the Olympic and Kenai... If anyone is interested I'll write up a DIY.

First scout I've seen in person. I really like the idea of a hard sided setup vs. our current camper.

It's really nice being able just just get in and out, not having to set things up all the time!

I loved my Habitat for what it was, but after realizing I didn't need the more compact, go anywhere form of the Habitat, I was happy to move to solid walls and a fireplace that fit more with what we wanted to do.

This pic makes it look like that first step off the tailgate is a DOOZY!!

Thanks for sharing the pics!!! I know there are quite a few Tacos with Scout's on the FB group, just not many on TW, unfortunately.
