You couldn't pay me to buy MBRP anything. They're an economy brand and you get what you pay for. I have the AFE hi-tuck with the last section removed. The Rock Basher version didn't exist and even it did I wouldn't pass safety inspection here. It terminates too soon. Anyway, I have yet to hear an exhaust on this truck that sounds decent. The AFE sounds pretty crappy, too. I knew what I was getting into, but got it for a few reasons: I found an amazing deal on it. My OEM exhaust is/was rusting very badly at the flanges. And I wanted something hidden.

aFe usually has a good sound. MBRP is going to be loud and even more so pointed at the ground causing the noise to amplify. How much do you like drone?

Just sounded closer more than anything. Still sounded stock to me. I've got a Borla muffler now. A little more throaty over stock. Definitely not as loud as the MBRP though.

    Thanks for the info.

Like a borla cat back or just the muffler on stock piping? Got pics or part numbers?

Just the muffler on stock piping. I also did the exhaust reroute ($80 from my local muffler shop.)

Still turned down right at the muffler. There's slight droning but it's minor.

think this might be the route I am going. Would you happen to remember what size turndown that is?

I know this is a 4 year old post, but if I put an exhaust that exited under my truck, I would probably put a CO2 monitor inside the cab.

I don't unfortunately. I just measured the piece I cut off, found something that was close enough and then my mechanic welded the turndown on.

I did end up taking the Borla muffler off and returning to OEM though. I few too many long road trips and the slight drone finally got to me.

I don't believe it's a big of an issue as some make it to be.
The only time I think about it is in a carwash. Then I turn the truck off.

Rockcrawler Exhaust Installed (1).jpg Rockcrawler Exhaust Installed (2).jpg Rockcrawler Exhaust Installed (3).jpg Rockcrawler Exhaust Installed (4).jpg I just put an AFE Rock Basher exhaust on mine about 2 weeks ago. It's about as loud as the TRD exhaust I had on it at idle, and it's not much louder when driving until you stomp on it.
    There's also no drone.

I had MBRP Catback exhaust, with Rough Country CAI. Drone was super loud, even on idle. I replaced it Borla Catback, better now.

I had the mbrp… dude the drone was nuts. You had to talk rather loud while driving g. I switched to magnaflow overland exhaust. So much nicer. Sounds great and tuneable on the sounds and drone

It is the kind of thing that it isn't an issue until it is. The concern for me would be that the vents for the cab are in the back between the bed. While they are supposed to be one way, there is the chance that they don't seal for a number of reasons. If that happens and you are dumping exhaust under your bed, it has to go somewhere and we know heat rises. That is a pretty small gap between the cab and the bed so you are undoubtedly going to get gases flowing there. CO2 monitors are cheap insurance.

It isn't. I carried a battery powered one with me for the first 6-8 months as I was concerned having not ever cut my exhaust......
After not getting a single reading (not even a .0) while driving under normal conditions I stopped keeping it in the truck.
