Anyone added a Alpine KTU 445U to stock non JBL radio? Did you buy a W/H?

Any issues with the install? Speaker wire colors?

 

I installed one. I made it plug and play by purchasing Metra adapters and wiring it to those, then just plugged it all together. No issues at all. It was a great upgrade.

Yes. Alpine calls it a Power Pack. They offer a universal one, the U in the product number and one that will plug and play with Alpine headunits. It fits right in behind the HVAC controls and zip ties to the dash support perfectly. It also accepts line in, so can be directly wired to an OEM headunit.

 

How much power does it provide?

I have a KR895BTS 22w per channel 50w peak. (2 channel for me)

I'm really liking the idea of an inline amplifier I don't have to rerun speaker wires and line outputs for, I'm not really an audio guy so a lot of this doesn't make sense no matter how hard I try to understand it, will this work with my aftermarket head unit and give me more power to my speakers?

Running Rockford Fosgate T1675-S on stock Tacoma wires, dunno how much they can handle before becoming inline fuses.

 

45w x 4 or 90 x 2. They do not state is that is RMS or peak, so unsure if you would see an increase.

Double what I'm pushing now probably worth.

It already gets loud enough for me but more clarity and less top end distortion always a plus.

Requires a dedicated power line run or does it do capacitor magic?

 

I ran a dedicated fused power wire from the battery and 12v switched source from the 12v lighter plug
I have also tapped into that power for my heated seats and powered subwoofer.

 

I have it powered by the headunit power input. No need for a new wire run.

Same here, Easy to wire it up on the bench and then just plug and play behind the stereo. Brought the replacement kicker speakers to life and with another amp and 10" sub in the back it's exactly what I was looking for without dropping to much cash and time into it.

 

Installed the alpine amp and Kenwoods in the rear today.Wow! Volume at 14 and it’s plenty loud. Maybe tweeters are next?
