Never been a Burger King fan, but couldn’t resist the grand opening of one in my local shopping center today. Was actually going to pass it up, but wifey insisted on french fries. OK, we’ll go through the drive-thru for your fries.
Stopped at the microphone and ordered one large French fries please. $4.28 at the window. Nobody at the first window. Honk honk. Guy at the second window told me he SAID second window. Already in a bad mood, I asked for salt. He gave me sauce, no salt. Wait! I held up a minuscule cardboard container, half full. This is what I get for $4 ? He said $4.28. I asked for a large French fries. What I got was the smallest portion of fries I’d ever seen. Really? Got my money back. I also got the silent treatment from wifey all the way home.

I was out and stopped by Wendy’s today, got burgers and a large fry. Fries were about 3/4 what I’ve gotten int the past, the box wasn’t even pushed out. I wonder if that’s how they’re compensating for cost increases?
$4.28 they charged you is ridiculous for a large fryo_O

I think BK just screwed up. Grand opening, new poorly trained personnel or untrained personnel. I’m not defending BK but such service at a brand new opening isn’t unusual. Thats why I stay away from grand openings and other new businesses. Again I’m not defending them. If that happened to me they would probably be taking me away in cuff’s.
There’s also something in economics called shrinkflation which is brands selling smaller amounts of products for the same price as before. Example - 20oz of shampoo cost $5. With shrinkflation the same shampoo is now sold in 16oz bottles for the same price of $5. This happens during times of high inflation. You can go to any store and find examples of this now a days. Sorry that happened Alan but definitely find a way to keep wifey happy. Happy wife happy life.

I will no longer buy a Frosty at Wendy's. The sizes have all changed until the large is now the size of a small... or smaller.

All of these outfits are losing business and when they do they get "beancounter syndrome". They get some accountant to tell them how they can make up for lost sales by reducing sizes and cutting costs other ways. The problem being that loyal customers have expectations and some will take offense and reject the new business model. Look at Radio Shack, Toys R Us, KMart/Sears... and all the other businesses that cut quality to save money and lost their customer base.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

Yesterday, I spent a few hours behind my chainsaw and pole saw cutting limbs and stumps. Lowe's also delivered the countertops and flooring for the basement bar we're going to build so I carried all that down to the basement. Of course, then it was pool time!! We had Margueritas by the pool and topped it all off with Mexican food on the back porch for dinner.

Today I'm playing my round for the 9 hole golf league at 8 before the 90 F heat and humidity hits and then it will be another pool day.

Be safe out there!! And, welcome to the porch @THEZMAN !

Good Morning Mark, Enjoy the golf and stay hydrated. By any chance are you crewing at the balloon festival in Chester County this weekend? They have been talking about it on the news here all morning.

Have a good round and stay safe .

I think you miscounted. Please add me to the list of over 60. This is my second Tacoma. Should make it to 80’s with this

Mike, I love your pics. How did the owner of the vett reduce the weight of the car? My 66 weighed in at around 3400 LBS, if I remember correctly.

Welcome to the porch. Post up a few pics when you get a chance.

Welcome to the porch. I believe most of us here have owned 2 Tacoma's. In my case it was an old 71 or 72 Hilux then the 09. Truck could not get out of its own way, but I had a lot of fun with it. I had a bed shell and camped a lot back then.

Yesterday was a busy one. The garage freezer is defrosted, and I installed a thermometer with an alarm. Cleaned out the garage, put air in one of the tires on the Avalon and went grocery shopping. All the talk about Shingles a while back prompted me to get the first shot yesterday. Cost was reasonable at $37. Arm is a little tender this morning but keeps getting better as the morning rolls on. Pulled out a skirt steak and along with some chicken sausages and asparagus with a pineapple wedge, dinner was good and filling.

Today will be laid back with just training a cucumber vine in the garden. Spatchcocked chicken with green beans and some sweet potato slices for dinner. I might throw on some zucchini slices and BBQ up some peach wedges. We shall see.
