    Wow found this…
Strength. Osage orange is exceptionally hard and strong. The bending strength (MOR) is over 20,000 psi (50 percent more than red oak). Hardness is around 2000 pounds (100 percent more than red oak). Stiffness (MOE) averages 1.8 million psi (roughly equal to red oak). The high density means excellent nail and screw holding as well. Pre-drilling of holes for fasteners will often be necessary to avoid splitting.
I knew it was tough but had never seen actual numbers. I know a nail will pretty much bend or bounce of when you try to nail something to it.

My one stand, actually my best one, is in a gnarly skinny oak tree, about 8-10" in diameter. I think it was 2011 when I first hung a stand in that tree. It had several vines like the one in your pic. Never had a problem with poison. Maybe a tiny blister and itching for a day or so. Well, I'm hanging sticks wrapping my arms around the tree, cutting the shit down, etc...Next day it looked like someone whipped my arms. The itching was so bad and it burned. Taking a shower was the worse. For two weeks it went on. Gonna hang another stand, grab my long sleeve canvas shirt I wore on the last rodeo (yes it was washed), and proceeded to get poison all over again.

Now, I take disposable rubber gloves, anything gets washed mutliple times in hot hot ****ing hot water.

Get yourself some technu, apply it like a lotion to every part of your skin that might come in contact with PI before you start working, once you’re done take a COLD shower and use the technu as soap.

can’t stress it enough, cold water after exposure. Warm water opens pores and allows the oils in. Cold water is fine to rinse the oils off your skin

technu is magic shit for poison ivy.

Seed ticks are baby ticks just out of they’re nymph stage. They are tan in color and very small whereas chiggers are bright red. I’ve gotten into them on several occasions and usually hundreds of them.

Exactly what Dave said, I get poison Oak really bad and also use Technu, it's a game changer. He explains it perfectly.
