Hey all! So I took my truck in for an alignment today, and found out that not only are my tie rods seized, but that my rack is leaking oil. Always fun news, but I figure my truck has been perfect for the last 15 years, and this sort of stuff happens. The trick is that I don’t really want it to happen again for a long time, and I would really appreciate input on replacement parts y’all have had good luck with. I’m going to do ball joints while I have it up in the air, and would really like to get grease- able units. Is there anything else that would be good to replace while I have things apart? I’m in it for the long run with this truck and want high quality parts throughout.

    Cheers!2166C25C-5236-4A27-B43A-EFF5BA1B2059.jpg

If you are going that far, I’d probably pull the control arms and do the bushings.
Some guys just buy the whole control arm. That is likely what I’ll do.
Going this route, means you aren’t getting OEM arms unless you want to spend a lot of money.

I’d say go with an OEM rack, that job itself is not at all fun.
I’d hate to risk it with an aftermarket one, only to do it again later.

Remanufactured racks usually suck. Buy new OEM if possible
