265-75R16 and unknown suspension mods (has door sticker)
Old drag racer here, so I know some about cars in general......not so much about Tacomas. I'm slowed a lot by covid recovery......on oxygen. Taco needs tires, but I have questions so the sellers can't buffalo me.

Apparently the previous owner had some sort of suspension upgrade done. There is a yellow sticker on the door jamb which says the gvwr is reduced by 200#.

It has 265-75R16 tires (original door sticker says 245-75R16). BFG aggressive tread.

I want to go to quieter tires! Also, I'm hoping with new tires to be able to pull away from a stoplight during wet weather without spinning tires.

Should I stay with 265-75R16s? if it's suggested to go back to original size, what else has to be done.

I dont trust anyone in my town to tell the truth.....or know the truth.

The yellow sticker is some toyota thing, don't remember what but someone will.

I would stick with the 265's, but if you go back to 245's nothing has to be done.

Just pick a quieter tread pattern.

The spinning tires is more a weight thing as the bed is plastic and doesn't weigh much,
gotta learn throttle control in the wet.

The yellow sticker was put there by Toyota.
It’s usually because there were things added to the truck before the final sale.
Anytime you add weight to a vehicle, your remaining GVWR decreases.
    That’s nothing to worry about.

As for tires, the 265 are a bit wider. Which should help with traction.
I’m too cheap to buy Michelin tires. But they sure are hard to beat when it comes to traction, noise, and ride comfort. More specifically the LTX A/T2

I personally run a bit more of an aggressive tire. But I pull a trailer across wet yards quite frequently.
So I want all the traction I can get, tearing ruts in a yard isn’t really an option for me.
