Well, they gut the car. Anything and everything.
Then put most of it back with safety equipment.
They can’t use hi tech stuff as it has to represent the vintage year.

When we were living in Casper, one of the electricians where my Mrs worked had a "built" Datsun 240Z that was raced in local SCCA timed slalom events. I helped him build "level" floor pads, to scale weight the four corners of the car at set-up. I am not a suspension designer sort of mech engineer - but Larry told me that a wheel off the ground meant he only had three tires worth of traction - and max cornering would need all four down and grabbing asphalt. I went around and read/recorded scales for him a couple of times while he sat suited up in the driver's seat. The weight jacking methodology of those guys is pretty amazing (he had a pile of carefully selected coil springs and shocks) - and the tire compound science is a big deal.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gal! Happy Canada Day! :canada: Maybe by tonight, I'll get caught up.

Thanks for all the thoughts guys - was just too wiped last night to even read stuff, much less write a note. Long day, longer for Carol. Seems she spent at least an extra hour in surgery, and I have not talked to the Doc like I normally do. She was wiped out when I got her situated in the room, and called later in the night doing much better. Doc will probably stop by to see her this AM, and give her all the details. Might call me. He's good about filling us in. She thinks I will pick her up today. But I'm sure she'll be told to do maximum nothing a couple days. Glad I don't have much on the list, because me and Rex will have to be both of us this weekend for sure.

    That fine in theory.
Road racing has elevation changes. There is a rise and dip right there and the suspension unloads. Lots of cars do this. even ours…

Good morning porchies. I hope everyone can get an early start to a longer weekend. We’ve had a neighborhood parade and breakfast on the 4th for 10 years or so. This year I’m on pancake detail. Got to clean the campchef and fill a propane tank. Have a great day.

IDK, but whoever owns it now, is easier to deal with. We still pay the monthly bill to ATT. This upgrade cost us exactly zero. But of course, the monthly goes up a few bucks. I was hoping for better internet, but really need a hardwire fiberoptic connection for that. Starlink is not an answer for us, too many 100'+ trees to the north. Got lucky with ATT, Hughesnet.. a "notch" in the southern tree line works for a dish aimed that direction.

    Afternoon all:
:goingcrazy: Just looked at fuel oil price, it just dropped to $4.999 gal., it was that "LOW" a little while ago and went back up. I could fill up now, but wondering which way it will go from here, guess it's anyone's guess! At the current price, it's going to cost $400 more than last year for 200 gal. that I usually get. :(

Workday today, yesterday I washed the Tacoma and today I waxed it, one more should do off the list! AND, of course, they are calling for thunderstorms tonight, probably will drive the Chevy truck and let the rain wash the dust and pollen off of it!

:rofl:I'm laughing at how appropriate! Literally, that's her shuffling pretty well for having three scars to heal, a rescued "spare" vein, and having her pubes "glued" to her skin! When she first tried to walk in the hospital, it was "painful" right there, and they had to take some surgical scissors to get her fixed up.
Just made us some Phillies, and she's shuffling back to the couch pretty good. Got Castle on TV, and she's happy.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

Glad to hear the wife is on the mend, Kurt!!

Great day yesterday - played golf in the morning and played pretty well. Getting the feel of the new clubs and picking up some amazing distance. Did a few chores around the farm and then hit the pool for the afternoon. Nice. Thunderstorms hit about 10:30 last night and it's been raining on and off all night - supposed to have storms all day.

My sister and her husband arrive today - start of about a month of having family here at Mighty Mortgage Manor.

Enjoy the 4th and stay safe!!

THX Mike. At least there were disc brakes, so there was an opportunity to lose some sprung weight. PS: I really do enjoy your pictures both the static and action pics.

Prayers for the wife Kurt. Is Rex allowed to visit?

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: There is always a decent laugh in this thread, almost every morning.

Went to bed early last night and got up early today. First load of laundry is in the washer and bacon is in the oven.

Going to debone a pork shoulder and cut it up into steaks. Thinking of separating the steaks and using three different marinades for flavor varieties. I really like doing Char-Shu pork, but I am the only one that likes the flavor profile.

We turned on the 4th of July lighting last night, If I remember I will snap a pic tonight.
