    Long time lurker first time poster, I apologize if this is posted to the wrong spot.

    I have a ‘05 DCLB 4x4 SR5. Last year it was wrecked and I decided to straighten it and instead of replacing the bed I bought a used flatbed off a F450 and a couple of friends and I “made it work”. It’s all steel. The truck has 290,000 miles. I’ve added a rack, a couple of tool boxes and rtt. In total I’m running about 1100lbs over curb weight(4100) at 5220. The suspension has Og coil on the front. Gas shocks where replaced with stock replacement 90k ago. And the rear has the factory replacement leaf pack

    My questions have to do with the weight distribution per axle. The added weight is all in the back yet the rear axle is carrying 635 lbs extra and the front is carrying 480 lbs more. I was curious if the Dakar HD would be enough or would I need to go up to the Deaver IIIs 402s? The Dakars are rated for 660 continuous added weight. So it’s close. And then the front coils I’m not sure what size with bilstein 5100s or OME Nitros. I’m really not looking for a huge lift say 1-1.5” on the front. Same in the back I’m fine with level or a little rake. It’s a daily ‘ish driver and spends a couple weeks on trips. Forest roads to trail heads beach camping etc. hope to build something that is responsive when needed but also soft enough to not beat me to death. I’m getting a bit to old for that. Hehehe! Well that’s it. Sorry if this is a bit rambled. My head has been swirling trying to make this up as I go. Any ideas about the suspension welcome.
    Thanks.

    No clue of a solution to offer, but would enjoy pictures.

    I'd go with the Deaver Stage 3 leaves, the Dakars won't handle it on their own. You would probably still need air bags, and then you are into it for more than the Deavers.

    Might be worth reaching out to Alcan or another spring company (you probably have a truck spring company in your town), and get a quote for springs to accommodate your extra weight.

    Tacoma springs have a bad habit of going flat.

    Get yourself some dobinson 113R's due to the weight. They would typically lift the truck 2-3" but that steel flatbed is heavy and I would say these are your solution;

    You'll need the 112R leaf pack and the 113R add-a-leaf kit to make it complete. Giving you nearly 1,000lbs of constant load.

    Well. .thanks for everyone’s input. Pulled the trigger on OME with 887 and Dakar heavy leaf pack. I went with the softer OME nitrocharges and so far rides great on the road. Getting aligned next week before taking off road.
    Ended up with about 3 inches up front. I’ll measure again after the alignment and re-torque.
