Northeast Auto Works. They quoted me 10-12 hours for the suspension wheels tires cab mount chop etc. Kept the truck two entire days and gave it back without the CMC done and my wheels all the way back on alignment with tons of rub. Told me they ran out of time. Then I left it an entire 3rd day last week for the alignment and CMC to be done and they again told me they were short staffed and did the chop without putting on a new plate or tidying it up at all. So now I need to find a welder to finish the job properly. Pretty disappointed and when I tried to ask them if they would work with me because I had already paid them 20 hours of work they basically said too bad.

Jesus, sounds like a good place to avoid at all costs. Hope you didnt pay them in full? Shouldn't take a shop more than a day to do all that...

If I had a welder Id offer to stich those plates on for you, but I do not unfortunately.

Had a little Friday axle wrenching with @Brownmatthall. Ecgs bushing done. Had a hell of a time getting the axle back in... had a quick Popsicle break(so I could stop dripping sweat on poor Matt) and got it.

Anyway, good times, always enjoy wrenching with you sir. Wife was disappointed you weren't here for dinner.
Sorry no pics, swampazz took hold and there was no going back.

Had a family day yesterday and then went for the easier wrenching on my truck. Had to rebuild my rxts. Was on option 2, now option 3. @crashngiggles, was hoping I was on 1, not the case, was in fact on 2. I wanted more
    :anonymous:

Next is front... new LCAs, alignment cam hardware, inner and outer tie rods, tie rod sleeves, LCA skids and one wheel bearing/ hub is giving up.
Have to plan that a little around when I can get in to get aligned.

Anyone got a crank drive straightener for a lawn mower? :spy: mines smoked. She shakes now baby! Smacked a grounding rod for a damn phone pole when I was mowing the other night. Was not a fan of that. If not will just bring to some small engine place down here.

Used a huge pipe/ breaker bar on my last one and got it good enough. Then upgraded the next year. My friend still uses it for his lawn where the riding mower shouldn't or can't go.

Yeah seen that too. might give that a whirl. It's only on its 5th year and has another 25 to give so I don't want to break it doing something stupid. But the straighteners are basically just fancy breaker bars. I'll call around some shops tomorrow and if someone can do it cheap then I'll just bring it in.

Is anyone getting together anytime in the NEAR future?

Pretty sure I'm doing road trip very soon, and could use a hand installing these bump-stops, and MAYBE some UCAs if they get here in time.

Also, anyone know if it is possible to remove JUST the seatback from the passenger front seat?

Been trying to hunt down a mini-van, or passenger van for rental, but, NOTHING available for 1 way...

It's possible to remove just the seat back but you'll have an airbag light on because of the side airbag.

Hadn't thought of that. I DO have techstream, curious if the light would self clear though.
Plan would be to bring it with, and reinstall in Texas.
She needs to be able to have her foot elevated. She is working on leaving it down for more time. BUT, that is a LOT of miles

The light would be on for as long as the airbag is unplugged. When you get to your destination, reassemble the seat and the light should go off by itself, use the Techsteam to check for any lingering SRS codes.

Hmmm, when you leaving? Think this weekend might not work for me but the next should be good.

    Get the ramp done?

Sucks I don't have time today... I'm in Springfield but have to rush home to get the dog to the vet. Rabies vac

Edit: what's Jared up to? ( building a shed)
Wonder when he's gonna share pics of his bumper:boink:

I only have small stuff going on in my driveway. Switch panel has been put off and I gotta get that done.

It's possible - what are you thinking, have her sit in the back seat and use the front passenger seat as a foot rest?

It self clears. When I put mine back in for inspection it went away. The history of the code might be in OBD still somewhere but the code itself has cleared when the seat goes back in.

I took the whole seat out. I am not sure how the seat connects to the upright section for the airbags, I assume there's a connection by the bolts somewhere - but it may very well be a hard wire and not a connector. I know there's a connector to the base (and it's a PITA, use a slotted screwdriver to undo it). Other than that I'm not sure how it connects to the upright, if it's a direct wire or a terminal somewhere in there.

No ramp. Long story short, not happening.

    Exactly....
Best way I can come up with for now. Would just be her, the youngest, and the dog on this trip. Not ideal, but, we need to get down there.
She has post-op ortho tomorrow, so, I will no more.

The bumps shouldn't be bad, cut down ubolts, drill 2 holed on landing pads... and go..

Don't think UCAs will be here yet. May try a different alignment shop to get me by.

I think your best bet would be just rip out the whole seat, stuff it in the bed if you need to have it when you get down there. Go out and get a footstool or something for her to put her leg on.

The seat bottom slants backward so it’s not very “flat”. Plus you’ll have 4 bolt holes you can use to secure your new footstool.

    something like this.

    upload_2022-7-6_7-35-4.jpg

But yeah I think without renting a minivan this might be as good as you can get. Would be a tight fit + dog, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I agree, pull the whole seat and you could even use a milk crate that you secure and top with pillows.
