    Thanks for the update!

I now remember you from this earlier thread. What's the latest on the engine situation? You swapping it or repairing it?

Don't think there's gona be much repairing on that engine, it windowed the block at the #6 rod.
The heads may be good yet though.

Yes, I'm well aware. Perhaps a poor choice of words, but when I mentioned repairing it I was referring to this post by OP (i.e. replace block / rebuild heads).

Yea that makes sense, I didn't see that.

I ordered a new short block from a dealership. It’s supposed to arrive via FedEx Ground (not freight!) either today or Tuesday.

I have no idea why, or how, this is being delivered by a regular FedEx truck. I’m very nervous about it being damaged by (understandably) disgruntled drivers.

I’ll be removing the heads and taking them to a machine shop to be cleaned up and refurbished.

if anyone in Austin wants to make a coffee table out of a 1GRFE, let me know. I’ll hook you up.

PSA- The head bolts may look like Torx, but they are apparently triple square. Stay tuned, I may have rounded a head bolt off.

From what I understand they are not torx or triple square, but instead double hex. Triple square and double hex are both 12 point, but the angles are different.
