Clear finger nail polish worked. Paint a red spot with it. Seemed to aleviate the itch even if only in my mind

When I was a kid I would use any nail polish mom had and didn’t like. I didn’t care what color it was those little devils drove me crazy.

Could be, the main difference is that chiggars are very easy to see and seed ticks are not. You usually feel the seed ticks before you see them. If you’re lucky enough to know you have seed ticks on you before they get embedded, you can use a lint roller to remove them.2CD8D16C-0054-4E3C-9DD3-7AA8CCDAE07C.jpg4D58CDE9-22E2-4767-BCCD-C42C6378C7C5.jpg

Shew I’m sure I have had both. Thanks for the nightmares! I think that the older I get the more things I discover that want to kill me.

Guys this is a bit off topic but keep my area in your prayers. We just experienced a terrible tragedy a couple of nights ago. Police officers were killed in the line of duty and others were shot. I don’t post this to get likes or recognition. I just want prayers for the family and friends. I knew the men involved. They were men just doing their jobs providing for their families and their lives were either taken or forever changed. I will attach the news link in case you haven’t heard anything about it.
I have a deep respect for all law enforcement and first responders and wish my best to them. The men and women that keep me safe and healthy and look after my family when I am not around. Prayers for you all. https://www.wymt.com/2022/07/01/sheriff-releases-names-officers-killed-floyd-co-shooting/

Perhaps one of the largest coastal blacktails I’ve ever seen is living in my back yard…

He started out just eating my grass every day and liked grazing on some old rhubarb.

About a month later he decided the neighbors compost was better. Munched on that for a good month.

That wasn’t good enough. So eventually he found our designated deer strawberry bed. I’d come out and find the tops mowed off every few days.

He leaves me gifts here and there.
    FC69ADA6-097D-4503-AC61-5C194B995A3B.jpg

Lost him for a couple of months during the antler growing season. I would see him pass through quickly, but I’ve got a few mountain lions and bob cats that moved in. Especially once the fawns dropped:

Finally found him yesterday eating out of the other compost bin back behind my barn… easily record book quality. Blacktails don’t get very big… I’ve got an office full of wall mounts from bucks with antlers barely over their ears. Crazy. I knew moving out to the country was a good idea  He’s still got a ways to go!

Heck yeah keep feeding him. I don’t know what is in the compost but it obviously promotes antler growth.

People shoot them too young here so he will be lucky to make it that far.
