    Okay, I remember that one.

    Cowans Gap State Park (been there).
    It's in the Tuscarora mountains and is a popular place in the Summer... cuz it's cool up there, duh. :rolleyes:
    There are cabins for rent (long waiting list) and a mountain lake.
    Did I mention popular? You don't have to be rich to go there.

    Anyway, the lake was open for swimming in designated areas... and fishing.
    You can guess the rest.
    If memory serves, cryptosporidium or coliform or something was found in the lake.
    Lake gets closed to swimming.
    The yellow water thing was a silly rumor. :rofl:

    I forget if they determined the source ...
    ... and I dunno if swimming is allowed there any more.

    I'll tell you this, though.
    We had the same problem at the Club lake and had to end swimming there... permanently.
    (I was on the Board of Directors at the time).
    You see, there was this little problem with Canada Geese pooping everywhere.
    The Club spent thousands of dollars hiring specialists to deter the geese.
    Nothing worked. :annoyed:
