2022 sr5 locking gas cap

Proud owner of a 22 sr5 taco, i need a locking gas cap/door. Lay it on me. Thx.

Why do you "need" a locking gas cap?

There's an anti-siphon system in the tank neck and the tank itself is plastic, very easy for a crackhead to drill even with just a pocket knife.

As for locking caps, most I've seen end up causing a check engine light sooner or later and I've never seen a locking gas cap that couldn't be easily defeated.

Most you can simply push down hard on and turn it off like normal, the rest you can either grab with channel locks and twist right off or rip the top cap off the threaded body and then grab the core with channel locks and turn it.

Otherwise you could try a custom one off door lock solution but that would require fab skills tools and time.

Honestly I say don't waste your money.

 

This is the one I’ve used on my 2nd gen and transferred it over to my 3rd gen
