So I have a 2011 Tacoma TX and I have a droning sound and vibration that begins at 57mph.

    Back story:
I bought this truck a couple of months ago and need to replace the driveshaft and U-joints, the front diff and axle. This work was all done at a dealership. This did remedy the issues that I was having, but now I have this droning and slight vibration.

The dealership says it is my tires (265 70 16 Good Year authorities - walmart version of duratrac). So an aggressive tire... Makes sense, but only 3000 miles on them and the droning and vibration significantly lessen when I let of the gas, so that makes me think not a tire issue??? It is very noticable when I am on the gas light at freeway speeds and then start a gradual incline. This did not seem to be an issue before the front diff and axle were replaced.. The front diff was a used one.

    Any thoughts????

Does the noise change with 4x4? With cornering?

Usually acceleration and high speeds is tires. Those tires are definitely noisier than the duratracs. You may have to live with it.

Wheel bearing noise usually happens around 30mph, and gets louder by highway speeds.

No change with cornering and did not try 4WD since it happens at around 60mph.. Again the fact that it is almost unnoticeable when letting off the accelerator makes me wonder about tires
