Nexus Collaboration: YWNexus Blackhawk

I’m coming from KDMax Pro. Just flashed the Regular WW file. Cleared PCM and TCU. Letting it idle with A/C for a bit then will test drive after work. I drive pretty slow around town and usually get pretty good MPG considering all the weight I have. Hoping for smooth low end to putt around with. Also, hoping to solve the engine lugging under 2k RPM when I’m in higher elevation. We shall see.

 

@Mooseditty17 adjusted mine down and a bit and now its perfect. My guess is with the added low end torque from Blackhawk it made the tip in a little aggressive vs Nexus. Reach out to the them and they'll be more than happy to adjust it for you.

There is another alternative I've been toying with, if the settings are too much for people.

 

80 mile update. Not sure if this has anything to do with the new tune or just a fluke, but figured I'd share here in case anyone else has the issue. I went into town to grab a load of mulch today and on the way home, the brake override malfunction light came on and the truck went onto limp mode. I was just driving normally up a slight incline when it happened. The mulch was heavy but definitely not the biggest load I've had in the bed.

I limped her home at the max speed of 8 MPH, then checked the forums to find the fix. I have seen others with this issue and knew there was an easy solution but couldn't remember at the time (disconnect battery cables, touch positive and negative together for 30 seconds, reconnect and codes will be clear).

The drive to work tonight went fine. Hopefully it was just a random occurrence, but only time will tell. Besides that, Blackhawk has still been running great.

 

We have received very few reports from the AT RegOL users (~5%) with this issue. This does not affect premium or MT files. Luckily we were able to find someone who could easily replicate the issue. Using them, we were able to thoroughly verify the problem was eliminated. We are working diligently to release updated AT RegOL tunes to all previous customers, and only have a few minor things left to button up.

 

Pretty great so far. Driving up to Sedona tomorrow. I-17 will be the true test.

 

Weird. This happened to me today… Twice. Had had a similar issue with the wife’s Highlander a couple years ago, so knew the work around, but didn’t think it might be related to the tune until reading this…

 

Unfortunately, we have had a few reports and have a fix. I will be sending out updates this weekend for any that were already sent files. Rest assured this is 100% corrected.

 

Many people have had this issue never having been tuned. I believe it to be more vehicle based than the tune itself, but we've revamped the Reg_OL files just to be sure

Just drove about 250 miles today through the mountains and off-road in 4LO. Dramatic improvement over the KDMax Pro map I was on. Running regular WW on 87. Still lugs under 2k RPM at elevation buy I think only gears are going to fix that. Shifting is smoother and power is really there. Still gear hunts with Constant Speed Cruise Control but it’s better. I ran it most of the day in S4+ECT and it was fantastic honestly. I can use 5th and 6th in town a bit but not on the highway in the mountains just the way it is until I go 5.29’s. The motor has never ran smoother and it really made the truck much more enjoyable to drive. MPGs we’re about the same as the old tune. Happy camper here so far.

Kevin got me the updated tune quickly and everything is working fine at this point. Will report back when I get some more miles on

I held off on updating for a bit. Was too busy opening up vF and getting straight to work, lol.

 

The vF Software on my computer takes like 2min or longer to boot with a nice, long hang in the early stages of the progress. No big deal, just need to let it do its thing.
