Hey all - happy to be back in a Tacoma, this time I went for the PRO as I had longed for one for quite some time. Got it in Super White, 20k miles, CPO. Didn't know how much I would love the Fox suspension but it is sublime...however, I'd like to add 1" front and rear for a bit more height and then do some 265 70s. I know I don't need to lift for this, but I have a certain vision in mind with regard to proportion and stance. That said...I hear mixed reviews about the Eibach lift coils and Westcott's wait times are ridiculous so what would be the disadvantages of simply doing a headstrong .5" top plate in front for 1" of lift and a simple 1" lift block in back?? The factory 'rake' is pretty minimal so I'm ok just doing 1" front/rear.

    All thoughts are much appreciated!!

In the grand scheme of things, there would be nothing wrong with lifting it the way you are considering. As for things you have heard about the Eibach springs? They make the coils that are on your truck. So I am not sure why they couldn't make a replacement of equal quality and fitment....

Personally I would go coil front and block rear over spacer in the front... but it is your truck.

    Welcome back!

Thoughts? I think you've been in the sun a little too much this morning. You're delirious thinking you are driving a 21 Pro.
When it's obvious you have a 2020 OR, Cement in color with a 6 speed manual.

Appreciate your input. Because I'm looking at a top plate spacer, it doesn't compress the coil, it just moves the assembly down right? I too would go with a longer coil but guys are complaining about the Eibach lift coils making noise in the front and the fact that the top of the coil isn't flat is making things difficult when reinstalling - this is a TOYOTA design being carried out by Eibach (the OEM supplier) so its kind of getting the he said/she said type treatment. As opposed to the 17-19 TRD PRO coils which are flat on top making for a very nice fitment with the bushing.

Oh and I am doing the TRD PRO bed graphic because every time I see one on a PRO I really like it for some reason!

More thoughts on my lift question, and general comments/questions are welcome!!

I also had to wait a while on the Wescott lift to be delivered, and then a while longer to get a slot for the shop to install it, but it was well worth the wait. The parts are really well made, and other than the truck having a bit less nose dive on braking the ride quality on and off the road feels exactly the same as before the lift. Assuming it's still on sale as part of Wescott's 4th of July special, I'd pick it up while it's discounted right now (otherwise they only do a sale on Black Friday) and just be patient on the wait time. I think it's better to get a good quality thing a bit later then something lesser earlier, especially since the Fox suspension on the Pro is so good that you really don't want to mess with it doing a cheaper option IMO.

Another note is that if you want a bit of rake to keep the back level when adding more weight like on the Pro stock, you can leave out the 0.5" spacer on the Wescott's front lift and have the preload collar only to add 1" to both front and back.

Coil compression is misunderstood by quite a few. A spacer to change the compression will adjust ride height. Change is ride quality comes from the change in suspension compression and extension changes from the ride height change. Regardless, a small spacer above the strut or above the coil will work the same. With that said, the spacer above the strut will push the assembly down and could in extreme cases limit full compression. Not that you would get there often unless doing serious whoops or rock crawling...

Now that you mention the coil change in the Fox suspension, I remember reading about this issue. I guess the Eibach has not changed to lift springs to match the factory springs on the newer Pro's. Funny, they make both, you figure the change would be simple.

    A few.
265/70s is the stock size from the factory.

Yeah otherwise I would have already ordered that Eibach kit. So to keep it simple for myself, is there anything fundamentally wrong with the .5" top plate for 1" front and 1" block in the back? For my needs the Westcott kit is really too much price wise - I mean I'm only going up 1". Most important to me is preserving as much of the factory Fox ride quality as possible and I reckon just the small top plate in front should help achieve that. If I were doing a 1" front spacer or trying to go up 2" or more, then I guess I'd be more concerned??
