Hello everyone, Im going to be having new TRD Pro Gloss black wheels put on my Tacoma. When balancing the tires can they mount the weight on the inside of the rim, or do they make black wheel weights. Im having Toyota do the mounting and balancing.

Yes, they use weights that stick on to the inside of the wheel

They will not be visible on the inside, but if they have to adjust the weight locations while balancing the old locations might show some marks/scuffs and some of the black may get removed

They do make black wheel weights. You can buy them on Amazon. Ask the shop installing the wheels what color they use. They will put them on the inside of the wheel. Post some pics when you get your new wheels.

I would probably be kind of pissed if that happened.

Im going over to Toyota today to order the wheels, I'll ask service while there what kind/color they use. Yes and definitely I'll post some pics!

Mine are black. But.... Even if they were bright white you won't really see them.

Don't lose sleep over some wheel weights or some light scuffs on the inside of your wheels.

if you’re concerned with scuffs and such I suggest not having the dealer do the work. Go to a independent shop in the area with good reviews.

the place that mounts and balances my tires has non metallic tools to remove old weights and the scuffs are minimal. They also care about what they do.

however scuffs on the inside of the rim aren’t that big of a deal. You’ll eventually have pitting from road debris etc.

I went to Toyota today to order the wheels, I should have them on by Friday, and yes they use the silver stick on weight. I saw some newer Tacomas there that had them and you hardly notice them. So these are the wheels Im getting.
