I couldn't pick it up Friday because they said that the inventory system was hacked. They called me today to tell me I can pick it up. So was what they told me correct? I don't know. It just sounded weird to me

hol' up. So they just needed to keep it over the weekend?

That crossed my mind. I drove out there Saturday after work to take a look at it. Everything looked good. I think my salesman didn’t want to wait for me to come out after work Friday

On side note I asked the salesman when things are going to go back to somewhat normal and dealerships having inventory again. He thinks this is going to be the new norm. Do you guys think he’s right?

It will be the norm throughout the entirety of the recession and at least through the very beginning of the next bull market. I'm guessing 3-6 years more.

It just keeps getting worse the longer shortages go on and it was bad before it happened.

When I bought [I put a DP on it and ordered it off the Toyota website the way I wanted it] my FJC, I tracked it all the way and yes, it took months. OK as it was a 2014 and the last year sent to the US. I knew it had arrived but nothing, I looked up their site and lo and behold, it was listed on their for sale section. I immediately called and raised hell. They of course said it was ''accidental.'' The salesman, lord, a turd in a septic tank was more useful. I gave the dealer low ratings and they called wanted to know if I might think about changing them. BWA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! No.

Even Dodge dealers have a better rep unfortunately in my book and that is just sad.

Then they tried to screw me out of the Toyota hitch I bought and paid for when I ordered the FJC, they tried to dump an aftermarket on me. Took months but I finally got the Toyota one and had them install it. Their excuse.....''it's hard to get one.'' Still betting someone at the dealer hocked it or sold it and then played games with me.

Yes. Our transportation tracking was hacked. Over 100 trucks were temporarily lost.

I've flown the owner of a very large car dealership organization several times over the past year. Super nice guy.

Several months ago I asked him if inventory was going to get back to *normal* anytime soon.

He's of the opinion the manufacturers love the position they are currently in. Little need for rebates or low/no interest rate loans and cars are sold very quickly so the incentive to go back to normal is far less.
