    Isn’t that 85% ethanol and 15% gas?
Well I think the actual is 15% real gas and between 50% and 80% ethanol and the rest “filler”.

You are completely wrong. E85 is up to 85% ethanol with 15% gas. Ethanol is not an added useless filler. It's an alcohol based fuel with amazing cooling affects and acts like a 105-110 octane race fuel. You lose about 30% fuel mileage running e85, not 5%.

E85 can be 50-85%. No filler. The rest of the E percentage is regular gas.

    It's 88 octane or e15. It's not called e88.

Like stated in this quote. DO NOT RUN E85 IN A NON FLEX FUEL VEHICLES. TACOMAS ARE NOT FLEX FUEL COMPATIBLE.

E15 should be okay though but don't take my word for it.

Thing wouldn't even run on e85.

Not sure why ethanol free is more expensive?

2006 Consumer reports e85 gas , up to 29% lower mileage in various driving. Car & Driver found as high as 32% lower. With ethanol fuel.

In the long run ethanol free gas does produce better mileage then ethanol fuels use today.

America produces and consumes more ethanol fuel than any other country in the world.
South America use ethanol fuel made from sugar cane. America is from corn.
Sugar cane use 7 times less energy than corn, hence sugarcane ethanol is cheaper to produce and cleaner than corn.

It's cheaper than regular gas because ethanol is cheaper bringing down the gas price when mixed.

    Ethanol.

It's like ethane, but with that little bit of hydroxide punch that makes it tasty. It's alcohol based because it's ...alcohol. :cookiemonster::cookiemonster::cookiemonster:

would be nice if Toyota would make a conversion kit to allow their engines to run on E85 only because gasohol (the old term from the 70s) proponents are going to walk up all unleaded (another old term) to E85 only and destroy millions (perhaps billions) of ICEs (cars, boats, airplanes, anything with a Briggs & Stratton engine). That was the reason why they don't call it gasohol today. They don't want us remembering how it destroyed cars back then.

If you ever need to find something out, just post the incorrect information on the internet. All the experts come out of the woodwork to correct you.

It's easier to research and be educated than post random stuff that can misinform others.

Aftermarket companies do make flex fuel sensors for some Toyotas.

If I remember right, there are other parts that have to be changed to handle the problems with alcohol fuels. Was explained to me when I used to own a Titan that the flex fuel vk56 engines had different injectors than the non flex fuel vk56s as well as a number of hoses feeding the fuel injection system itself. My interest would be to protect the engine from damaged from those pushing gasohol blends. Rumor has it they're now pushing E15 in place of E10.
