The lights are very different than they used to be. I have bought 3 sets over the past 10 years and have had a lot of troubles.
First set I bought was all white, no color offered back then and the lights were ROCK SOLID!! Very good lights.

The second set I ordered was the MAX RGBW and it had an optional controller I bought with it. The problem here was the wire lengths were way off and the guy got all pissed at me on the phone and asked me if I ever installed lights before. He said the lengths were adequate and I could return the lights if I want. I did not want to return them because I loved my first set. I laid everything along side the truck (Tundra CrewMax) and it was blatantly obvious there was a problem. Before each light had a wire cable but the new ones were wired in series on the cable so adjustment was minimal at best. After the picture they sent me another set after I gave them measurements they asked for. The fit was good finally. The controller the company knew nothing about so I called XKglow that made the controller for them and they talked me through how to make the white color as white as possible. There was a problem with white in the second generation but worked fine.

Now another set for the same truck (I put the other set on my wife’s 4Runner and bought the new improved MAX RGB. I was out looking at the controller and there is no antenna like that last one and only connections for the wired lights were in the controller. The last set had power wires for the controller, a connection for a switch to turn it on/off and the connections for the wired lights. The app when I opened it is horrible. The controller has 3 zones and it was “EXPENSIVE” but should provide the flexibility I required. I see no way at all of turning on any of the zones, they all have to be on at the same time unless I am missing something which I probably am. Trying to control the color and the theme is very difficult and of course like all apps no directions, just play with me and find out kinda deal.

I am trying to figure out how all the big names buggies that have the LUX stickers on them actually control their lights on their buggy. I have the need to turn on or off any of the zones for different types of wheeling. Does anyone have the new controller? I am going to need help and from what I read the reviews on the Apple store folks are not happy, they say it also disconnects from the controller when the phone goes to sleep. I have a photo of the price of the controller for your entertainment.24254A88-E895-4F3A-90EB-F8E46FB409AE.jpg
