Hey all, just got my OME coils in, Icon AAL’s in, and my black trd 4 runner wheels in, with some 255/80/r17 Toyo AT3’s. Running into some rubbing issues, pretty minor though. To be expected I guess.

I know I’m going to have to trim parts of the fender flares/bumper, and will have to deform or cut some of the black plastic fender liner so the tires don’t rub. They only really rub on hard bottom outs I think, like it must barely hit the edge of the bumper. Only other rubbing issue is when I’m turning and the suspension compresses, maybe like going fast into my driveway, I can hear some rub. Other than that, no big issues, no dreaded cab mount issues. Did not want to chop that in the first place, which is part of the reason I went with true 33s in 255 instead of 285. I really like the look they give, would totally recommend Toyo AT3’s in 255/80/17!

Anyway, what is the easiest way to find out what needs cutting? Since the only rubbing issues I have are when suspension is compressed, how could I simulate that to physically see where clearance is an issue so I can cut it?

I was thinking I could just jack the control arm to compress it then fire the truck up, and then turn the wheel for clearance issues.

Good course of action? Just thought I would ask you guys who know a thing or two.

    Thanks,
    Brooks

I was able to find scuff marks on the rubbed areas when I had rubbing issues...
