Part of it is you have to flavor the corn masa. Usually i add chicken broth, some of the juice from cooking the pork and lard. If they only use water they will be bland. The filling has to be seasoned with at least 3 different chili's

This, of course, is the heavy frigate USS Constitution.
AKA "Old Ironsides".




The US Navy during the War of 1812 couldn't dream of going toe to toe with the Royal Navy.
So there was no point in building Line-of-Battle Ships.
Even if Congress was willing to spend the money on some...which they weren't.

The US Navy was not, however, willing to cede the seas to the British.
The Constitution and her sister ships were intended to be superior to any ship other than a Ship of the Line.
They were fast enough to escape any Ship of the Line, and also to catch and overpower (almost) anything smaller.
This was achieved by the use of several very clever design choices (which I'll spare you).

When Queen Elizabeth was given a tour of USS Constitution (circa 1990), she spotted some cannons with British markings.
Her guides were too polite to tell her that Old Ironsides had captured those cannon from British ships.

Supposedly she quipped: "We really must do something about those foreign arms sales, shouldn't we?"
