Yep. I think china has history of it too. But, Americans did it by choice.

 

Hitler was definitely bugged out on a ton of shit by the end of the war, probably led to the poor strategic decisions Germany made later on. Worked out for the rest of us though

I read that their official strategy was to resupply along the way using Soviet supplies from the villages they went through.

Soviets beings Soviets, they figured that out and abandoned & burned down their own villages to the ground forcing the Germans to slowly die from the elements and starvation
