So, I like the look of the hood scoop, and would trade if someone in the SE Michigan area had a magnetic gray hood w/ scoop they would be willing to trade for a non hooded version, however that seems unlikely.

So I started poking around and the closest thing I found was Revemoto selling one painted for almost $1950 o_O : https://www.revemoto.com/products/2...h-scoop-conversion-kit?variant=39735369891922 That seems a bit, choke, on the "high" side in my opinion.

If I was to try and just buy the pieces and have my local shop paint the hood, does this look like I got about everything I need?

With twice as many bits as I would need, just in case I lose something or mess it up, I'm coming up with about $625 for the parts + the paint job from my local shop. Does this about cover it if I want to do it myself?

Looks about right to me. I did that very thing and it ended up costing me around $1500 which included installation

I assume the hood came unfinished and/or primed?

Install I think would be pretty easy, so I think I'd bit that off myself.

I'm aware and already good on the paint side of things. I have a shop and a contact I have been using for about a decade now, so no worries there. But thanks. Just wanting to make sure my parts list is solid.

I think you're looking at about $1500, depending on how expensive body work in your area is.

    @msgs350 can offer some insight.

Thanks! So, I'm set really on the price / cost side of things, I don't really have any issues there. Just looking more to make sure the parts list is solid.

EDIT: I'm thinking for the paint side, I would probably scoot by with my guy for about $700-800, but that would be with a base already primered hood, which is why I asked earlier.

Yep, unfortunately I posted immediately after your last post, which stated as much.

Regardless, msgs350 should be able to confirm your parts list. I think he had a spreadsheet for it.

Awesome!! I will have to compare a few as the ending numbers between a few of the trim bits on the lists are different.

This was his final list of what worked for him?
    Thanks in advance!

The factory hood comes primered and ready to paint.

I’ve seen these threads and I’m always curious as to why anyone would pay for this. No sarcasm or rudeness intended at all just honestly wonder why someone would pay 1500 bucks to end up with a non functional hood scoop. You could get a great tint job and new tires or a set of wheels. A really good suspension upgrade. 1500 for a pretend scoop is like the most expensive autozone upgrade ever. It’s your money and your truck of course so it’s only your opinion that matters I just honestly wonder what the appeal is that a person would be willing to pay that much to have one.

No offense taken, it was a personal choice for cosmetics, no difference from most of the trinkets, accessories and “mods” sold on TW, I think it’s nice to look at.

I already have multiple sets of wheels, tires, suspension, gears/lockers..so why not a scooped hood :)

    It’s never done….

I don’t think it’s “ready to paint”. Your body shop should advise you on any additional prep work that may be needed.

    yup, that’s all I ordered.
I think I was around $600 for parts and $900 for paint and install. I could have saved that $60 install cost but didn’t want to put a perfectly painted hood in the bed, then need an extra pair (or two) of hands to fuss with it. I pulled up to the shop, got the hood swapped and was headed home in 45 minutes.

Scoops is the only accessory left for him to make it a true panties dropper. Do what you want it is your truck and money.
As for $yoda$ why don't you ask that same question to the GM, Dodge and Ford owners who have those no functional scoops as there are a hell of a lot more of them than Tacomas.just saying
