Non yet that's why I'm here
Hey party people, have had my 2001 toyota tacoma 2wd prerunner for about 20k miles now, it is my first truck and second vehicle. Looking and needing to replace a few things figured no where better to ask for help and guidance when I couldnt find the info myself or just reassurance that I get all the right parts needed.

I'm in need of a new suspension system and I'm wanting to build a custom camper in to my tacoma bed. So I want to make sure I can acount for the weight I'll be adding. And I couldn't find anything about the weight load of the gear I'm looking to upgrade with so I've come to ask for aid.
Parts looking to get are the following

    These Leaf Springs
    https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/skyjacker-softride-2-5-rear-leaf-spring-tcr25s/_/R-BHNG-TCR25S
    And
    This 2.5 lift kit
    https://www.roughcountry.com/toyota-suspension-lift-kit-740c.html?find=2001-toyota-tacoma-2wd-738860

Maybe I'm blind or just stupid (I do wear glasses hmmmm) but I couldn't see the weight capacity of either set. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Leaf springs are a tricky one. It's tough to really give a load rating for a lot of these off the shelf options. Many packs, possibly the ones mentioned here don't really increase load capacity much, just ride higher with a stock load. The OME dakar springs allow for an add a leaf if you know you will be carrying more weight. You may be able to add more to this pack if needed. It generally takes some tinkering to get the right ride height for your given load. Either that, or get a custom pack for your specific load from a company like deaver, but those a bit more pricy

this is right, Probably look for “heavy duty” packs - but you may need an AAL anyway once you have your topper built out.

Id also suggest probably doubling your budget and getting coilovers meant for the ride height you want. Top mount spacers on a tired front end spring would likely make you cringe over every bump. Also at 2.5” you should probably start thinking of extended rear brake lines for the back.

Recommend staying away from spacer lifts. Maybe as a starving student temporary add on experiment to existing coilovers (keep it to 1 inch).

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Just be careful you might not be happy with the soft ride springs once your camper is built.

The amount of goodies you can not live without while camping gets heavy fast add children to the equation it gets real heavy.

I really like the Air Bag option or a Custom leaf pack built for your loaded out truck.

Look at super springs. They add a leaf that is adjustable to re-level the truck after adding weight. I have them on my super duty and they work great.
You can also check out ‘torch’ add a leaf product on Amazon. Maybe with your new spring pack these will help with the load.

My OME Dakar springs, even brand new, sagged so much under even mild loads, I would avoid them with a custom/heavy camper…

Also I’d second the airbags if you’re going to be going off-road with said heavy camper. Nothing worse than feeling your rear end bottom-out on one side even when your were positive you couldn’t have gone over that dip or rock any slower

Heyo again party people I've read and hopefully found parts that are better and following all your suggestions.

Oh and breakline extensions will be picked out once I know all I'm getting and gonna need

HD leaf springs have been hard to find ones that say they fit and on a site that felt trustworthy lol
    https://www.generalspringkc.com/200...ner-heavy-duty-rear-leaf-spring-4-3-1-leaves/

I also found these on ebay
    Dorman right leaf SKU: 8221-05633452
    Dorman left leaf SKU: 8221-05109336

My concern here is they don't say anything about a change in height, I plan to just go on some basic blm tails to some cliffs and other climbing locations so idk if lifting is needed at all, just trying to being safe here lol

Shocks Coilovers 650lb option Rubber instead of Air bags? In a desert if that helps here, idk lol
