Why? I don't wanna drive it, let alone wheel in it.

I actually did because the the plastic splash guard kept falling off and generally looked like ass. My rav4 is way funner to drive then my truck, the 3.5 moves that thing pretty good.

JFC man, just SELL the fucking thing!!!! For the love of the gods WHY would someone keep a vehicle they hated so much?!?? Just sell the f-ing thing so we dont have to hear you bitch about it in E V E R Y, F U C K I N G, P O S T.

Its obvious its your Tacoma and not ALL Tacomas as there are plenty of people on TW with 33s and armor. Hell my 2020 is bone stock atm, but doesnt hunt for gears at all when towing 3,500 lbs of trailer and all the gear in our bed.

We get it............honestly we do. Tacomas are not for everyone and you are obviously one of those people. No worries.............just for the sake of the rest of us, please PLEASE just sell your Taco so we dont have to hear the everlasting bitch-fest in nearly every thread you post in.

I did really like my 2021 Taco. So much on it's first oil change I traded it for a Pro. However the Pro won't arrive until September.
It's a truck, so it's fast enough for my DD needs.
If I want to go fast, we've got 2 others in the driveway that will get speeding tickets in under 4 seconds.

Honestly I dont care at ALL about that vid or any other vid.
Im not the only one who was and IS attempting to make it blatantly obvious people are SICK of hearing you bitch about a situation you can easily rectify yourself. Sell the fucking truck and move on, or keep it and STFU.

I mean if its in a YouTube video it must be true, its not like sibi has a vested interest in convincing people to buy gears from them or anything.... oh wait.

Transmission programming needs work. Guessing it was written by devs in a mostly flat terrain part of the world. Would be happy to recommend to Toyota a place they can test where the truck cycles through 6 (speed loss) , 5 (stops losing speed but can't get back to cruising speed), 4 (races back to cruising speed), jumps to 6 (start losing speed again) and repeats the 6,5,4 pattern continuously until it reaches the top of the hill. Other than that, love it. Hard to resist modding it beyond simple mods.

Yes, I'm sure a tune can fix that. Might do it some day.

I miss my Tacoma. As soon as as the RV is gone so is the Tundra.

My stock 5th gen 4runner TRD pro gear hunts as bad as my Tacoma in the mountains, it just sounds worse with 4.0 when the revs are high it feels like it’s going to send a rod to outer space.

It does with cruise control above like 60mph.

By gear hunting I mean constantly down shifting and then up shifting for no reason.
down shift makes sense, but then immediately up shifting when I’m still on the incline just to down shift again is the annoying part. Same with Tacoma.

here is a 5 page thread of people lying because the 4.0 is an absolute beast

I’d say it’s a lemon. Sounds like your transmission valve body has a factory defect.

    4 run, 2 don't
It's not so much the truck, but the owners sometimes.

There's a handful of 3rd Gen trucks I like, owned by a few buddies.

Might be getting too old for this.
I just gotta say (a little late to the party)...I love the arguments about this truck's reliability considering the amount of Tacomas in the wild compared to all of its competition. Of course the reliability statistic is going to be more than expected in contrast to Toyota's perceived quality.
